Giving up a 1st round pick wasn't a good investment on a player that we really only got two years of production out of.

A clear lack of passion for the game and a lingering injury should have been factored into the decision to draft him. Rivera made his frustrations about Otah clear that he was injured and stayed that way because he seemed to be unmotivated to work through it. These aren't traits that come out of nowhere. These are ingrained in a person's character. Which is part of the evaluation process.
