I haven't had the pleasure of Weller 12 yet.   EC12 is great, the barrel proof will shake your soul around.   But in general, I tend to dig on 4 year, 6 year stuff.   People getting so damn nutty about Pappy 15, 20, 23, I don't know.  Bourbon has fresh char barrels, the greatest impact on white dog happens in the first couple years.  The best, I'm sure, makes it past 4 but how much better? The variation has to be less than scotch.

I just randomly poured a glass of cognac as a break from scotch and bourbon. I kinda want to cut back on how much I spend on that stuff.

On that note do you guys know of good bourbons around 50 or less? I know and love Buffalo Trace and Rare Eagle and Four Roses. Anything along those lines?

I've also just discovered that drinking spirits after you've eaten sunflower seeds is not a great idea. It seems prying shells open with your tongue covers it in thousands of tiny cuts.
