They almost always have it in stock at Fermental in ILM.

 

 

In fact, heading there now for a "beer off" between Ballast Point and Atwater.  Can't wait.

I would be willing to trade you anything local here for some Pliny. I brewed a clone of it a while back but have never had the real thing. We should do some beer swapping. Some east coast for west coast stuff.

I am on a Belgium Kick here lately. My favorite is probably Chimay Blue or Trappistes Rochefort 10.

I made a special trip to Delaware last summer for some Dogfish Head World Wide Stout and 120 Minute IPA both of those are really good as well. I have one bottle of each left that I am aging. Was going to try to age them for 3 years but I think I may end up drinking them this year.

True story:

 

Last weekend, I went into a local beer & wine store in DC, that is one of the few I know to occasionally stock it. I asked the lady stocking the shelves if they had any Monk's Blood, and she repeats, "Monk's Blood?" She then assumes this very sever countenance on her face, like she's offended. I say yeah, it's my favorite beer, and that's what it's called. And she -no bull poo- says to me, "Sounds like you're going to hell!" She's not joking at all. She's got serious church lady face, and tenses up like she's holding back fury and she's gonna throw me out of the store.

 

So just before I exit the store, possibly for the last time, I ask her if she has my second favorite beer:

My go-to first beer is usually a Delerium Tremens.
