Best Beer You've Ever Drank

Another thought, why don't we have a bracket going? It's 20 weeks until the season. 40 beers that are nationally available. We have a poll that's open all week so everyone can get a chance to try them both. I'll set it up if there's any interest

Stop trying to organize poo - that's my job.

But I do like this idea. You should do it.

Definitely Cascade Stout on tap at some little tavern in Port Lincoln, South Australia.

Setting plays a piece in it though. Such an authentic little fishing town in the middle of nowhere, and it was accompanied by a big schnitzel after a day of cage diving with great white sharks.

Probably the manliest day I've ever lived, so it had to end with a dark stout. Delicious slight chocolatey tint to the beer, very nice.

I just wish I could remember half the beers I tired while in Germany one summer. Virtually every city/town has their own brewery where local beers are on tap along with some famous German brews. Beer was cheaper than water in the majority of places so it is entirely possible I drank more beer than water during my stay. In fact, at some recycling centers and small markets large bottled beers were only one or two euros. Nothing better than getting out of class and heading down to the river in Germany on a beautiful day with a handful of different beers for six or seven euros total.

The dunkelweiss i had at Hofbrauhaus in Munich is still to this day the best beer i've ever tasted.

2nd best was the cask ale i had at Squatters in Salt Lake City back in January

If you want to taste real good beer, come on over to Belgium, I'll buy you some.
My 3 favorites:

Duvel (8,5%)

Omer (8%)

La Chouffe (8%)

These are the more known beers over here. We also have a lot more local beers like Westvleteren, Chimay, Rochefort, Brugse Zot, Kwak, Rodenbach, Hoegaarden, etc...
Small country, lots of quality beers.

I went to school in Holland in 97 and came back with a taste for Belgian beer. It was hard to come by when I got back to SC though.

What's great now is that good beer is so in fashion that I can get every beer you mentioned at a convenience store that's a 5 minute walk from my apartment.

    • First on T-Mac, I 100% expect him to be the top WR from this class, however I think expecting him to put up 1k+ as a rookie isn't necessarily fair, especially since you're putting it in perspective of how many other rookie WRs have done that in recent years. And Thielen is the reason for that. Not many (if any) of those 1k+ rookies had someone like Thielen there when they were drafted, and no matter how good T-Mac is this year, Bryce is still going to lean on his existing chemistry with Thielen unless he's drastically lost a step this offseason and just can't get open like he's been able to in his career. As I pointed out in another thread the other day, looking at MHJ last year is the way to look at T-Mac's season if Thielen plays a full and healthy season.  MHJ had McBride "steal" 110+ catches and 1,100+ yards in what was a pass happy offense (Kyler was 9th in the league in attempts), it's going to be hard for any rookie to put up more than the 800ish yards he had last year in that scenario.  Especially if we follow a similar game plan to last year and be a run heavy team. In terms of XL, you're completely right, jumping up to get a project 2/3 isn't smart, and if we knew we needed a future slot from that pick, yes, Ladd would have been a much better pick. But at this point, those are all sunk costs, even taking T-Mac at 8 is now considered a sunk cost. Forgetting the past or who we maybe should have taken last year now knowing future roles, I still think T-Mac, XL, Coker can be one of the Top 1-3 WR rooms in the NFL in a few years, I honestly think they really do have that potential in them.
    • Maybe we should have just drafted a corner?  Crazy, I know.  One of the few positions we knew had to be addressed in the draft and nadda.
