I went in with tremendously low expectations and came out thinking it was okay at best.

I was hoping for a Dark Knight Returns plot, but the movie only gave the comic a veiled homage.

For those that have also seen it, who could Lex possibly be referring to at the end?  I don't want to get into spoilers, but I feel like the caped crusader has pretty much faced his biggest foes at this point, right?

Darkseid's symbol was in the vision future flash so I'm going to guess that.

Its disappointing to hear Miller isn't a good Flash. I mean we kind of all figured that anyways, but for it to be out there now, its still disappointing.

I wouldn't say wasn't a good flash because there are only two scenes of him but I haven't liked the casting since it was announced. Don't like the long hair skinny emo looking Barry Allen. In that sense it is disappointing

I really, really wish Snyder cut out a lot of fat. I get it. He wanted to build a world but he neglected some of the fundamentals. That first act was a severe mess. In addition, there were missed opportunities.

I don't get the criticism over Batman killing. Burton's and Nolan's Batman killed. Yet... critics and hardcore fans picked THIS installment to finally whine about it? I don't buy it. I mean, some of these critics were caught praising The Daredevil series by stating stuff like: "Batman wishes he could go this far..." but the moment he shows no hesitation to kill, Snyder has broken a Cardinal Comic Book Rule and Batman is TOO dark. I'm fine with this interpretation going full Punisher every now and then. That said, I doubt Batman will kill in the next installment.

Affleck is the most physical Batman to date and it's not even close. I love my Batman to have a 5 o'clock shadow too. That is all.

Judging from the critics' reactions, Justice League will likely go to Ayer. However, this film is still on track for having a monstrous weekend. It's already over 120 million WW. If the strong legs continue, BvS will easily cross a billion. So we might as well get use to Snyder at the helm.

I think the vocal criticism so far is enough for DC to not go back to Snyder. The name of the movie alone is going to carry this movie financially but the story and direction in the actual movie was mediocre at best. Serious flaws in this movie and should warrant a change of direction. I wouldn't go see a Snyder directed Justice League as much as it pains me to say it but it's true.

as for the batman thing, I tried to justify to myself throughout the whole movie that this movie universe batman has just had enough and is doing what ever it takes but the things I couldn't get myself past was the guns. Batman to me has always been anti-gun ever since his parents died. That's a pretty esstainal character trait for me when it comes to batman and this batman has all his vechile a stock piled and he's mowing people down. fug that.

Fair enough. I personally saw Batman mow down some thugs in the Nolan trilogy but fans were willing to dismiss it due to the quality of the films. I tend to wonder how Batman could avoid killing in certain situations however. A psychologist once said it best during the TDKR promotional tour, Batman's ability to NOT kill is a superpower on its own. In this interpretation, the envelope was pushed. I didn't count the Knightmare Scene since it was a dream sequence but that third act whooping he put on KG Beast and his goons was a tad jarring for the traditional fans. I didn't see Batman planting one thug on his neck and stabbing another up against the wall coming BUT by this time I had already accepted Snyder's jaded and unforgiving Batman.

We will see. I thank Snyder for his services but I want a more proficient director in charge of Justice League. Snyder has great qualities for an action genre type of director but his issues with editing films is just absurd. With all of that uttered, I wouldn't be surprised to see him return. WB needs to hire a legitimate Producer. Snyder's wife and Roven ain't cutting it.

Agree on all fronts. Hopefully Suicide Squad redeems DC a little but this movie has just been sad for us much promise as it had.

For me, it's a letdown but I still score it an 8.5. Some of the scenes and acting saved it from being a subpar flick. It's a shame. Somewhere in there, there's a 10/10 CBM and Snyder's masterpiece.

Hopefully The Ultimate Edition will be his Kingdom of Heaven Director's Cut

Could be. They cut 30-40 minutes so there's that. Just sad the theaterical release suffered. I wanted it to be good so bad but I just can't.

I don't think Snyder's Dark Knight had any intention of sticking to the 1 rule canon attached his character.

I do admit I did overlook the Darkseid implication in a followup, but really couldn't see Snyder pulling him off in the universe he's created.

It really might be a blank check and a skeleton key to the studio for Nolan if they're serious about competing with Marvel.

Should I bother going to see this?

I guess I'll just enter with no expectations, and several beers.

Yea, but save the beers til after.  30% on rottentomatoes is too low, but the 8.5 grade being thrown around is too high imo.  I thought it was more of a 5.5 or a 6/10

Honestly, the only reason to see this in theaters is to see how a studio and filmmaker can screw up a $250 million tent pole so spectacularly.

It is a bad, bad movie.

Judge for yourself. Hardcore fans are split. The casuals seem to love it but got confused by some of the Easter Eggs like Flash's cameo.

saw it, I liked it a lot but I also love DC so that's no surprise. I can definitely see it's flaws and I see why critics didn't enjoy it, but cmon a 30% on RT? That's laughable - this movie is being judged on what people wanted it to be and not what it is.
