Would you trade Philip Rivers for Mariota?

Phillip Rivers is a top QB in the NFL.

Mariota has yet to play in the NFL so your going on potential. Mathematically your chances of Mariota becoming a top nfl QB are slim. So unless your scouts are 100% sure he will be a top qb then the trade wouldn't be worth it. Now two first round picks could be worth it.

Not for Mariota AND a first next year. Franchise QBs are too valuable and Rivers is one of the better ones. The only situation that would make me consider it is if I knew for a fact Rivers wouldn't sign a new deal, and even then I might play the franchise tag game for a few years first. At least until there's a better prospect than Mariota to get out of the deal. I don't think Rivers has been franchised, would be a couple years before it got too pricey.

i want to see Rivers in the NFC East:

"Washington Redskins — Dan Snyder is known for making big, splashy moves. This would be bold and Washington feels like a viable team to trade a high pick or 20 in exchange for Rivers if the Chargers want to try and make that happen. ... We’re talking a top-five or top-10 NFL quarterback here. It alters your franchise. The Redskins badly need a quarterback. They have weapons in DeSean Jackson and Pierre Garcon and a high-end left tackle in Trent Williams . Washington is in the south, kind of."
