Panthers to work out Agholor

Working out a player doesn't always mean we like them or will even draft them a lot of times teams with work out player with red flags or they have question about

Agholor's only question mark is his size. You think we wasted a work out on him just to weigh and measure him again?

While this is true, why is it so important to say in a thread about working out Agholor?

nothing is more valuable than time, especially with the draft right around the corner. We only have x amounts of hours. Guys we are most interested in get priority

A workout usually involves only sending the position coach(Proehl in this case) and maybe a scout. There's honestly plenty of time to send Proehl or any other position coach to workout with pretty much all of the early round prospects plus some late rounders at their position when you factor in the pro days they attended where they can meet with the prospects as well.

the thread on Agholor on the Draft forum here at the Huddle if you want to learn more. No surprise he's a late 1st/early 2nd R talent. He's been that way since I started checking him out. You can see right there in the OP he was rated a "Late First Round Value" back before the Combine:

Proehl has to watch all the film on every WR prospect eligible for the draft. He doesn't have time to visit them all, just his favorites. Last year, KB was one and he went to visit KB

If nothing else, this draft season has taught me that message board members love to judge wide receivers (and probably other positions) based upon initial rankings and mocks, no matter what media analysts, scouts, or football executives are purported to say about later evaluations of actual game tape, the combine, pro days or private workouts.

This is just further evidence that people just don't have the will to pay attention, the time to pay attention, the interest, are really not as knowledgeable about the nuances of the evaluation process, or the position, as they would lead you to believe---or a combination of all or part of the above.

Receivers are my thing, and I am telling anyone that wants to listen that Agholor is going to be solid.  The only reason that he does not get the buzz of those ranked higher is because of their perceived upside.  Does their upside and size trump his versatility and skill, but perceived lower ceiling on day one?  Ultimately he is going to be a good receiver, and he would fit into our offense almost perfectly.
