Totally. To me that is where all the games are won or lost. Moreso than turnovers and time of possesion

Yep they definitely need to improve that. The optimist in me thinks that with their starting RBs ever playing a game, it should improve. All the BS penalties on offense have to stop though.

...at risk of parroting fox, there's not much you can do on third and a mile... the key is to make good gains on first and second down. And when you're playing without steve smith, and without deangelo williams, and without jonathon stewart, you're more likely to end up in those situations.

fear not... barring injury (and retarded penalties... let's not see a repeat of last year's early-season yellow-flag catastrophe) we'll convert third downs the majority of the time.
