Jaworski believes the Bucs will take Mariota

I'm beginning to think Jameis is running a campaign to avoid going to the bucs. For example, why would his lawyer have said those things about him? Seems to be working.

I'd be really surprised if he was. He's pretty damn arrogant and it would go totally against his personality to try and not be the #1 pick and he doesn't have the guaranteed #1 pick leverage to force a trade like Eli and Elway had.

The lawyer is also on a damage control tour today doing all sorts of radio interviews to try and clarify his remarks.

Well if he was, could you really blame him all that much?

Not only looking at the Bucs record as a franchise with developing quarterbacks lately, but also Lovie Smith. Yikes.

In this day of rookie wage scales, the difference between the number 1 pick and the number 8 pick isn't so great anymore. I wonder if we'll start to see players try to sabotage their position in the draft more often.

This.  Aside from the off field concerns, the guy was an absolute turnover machine last year.  You rarely see a guy reduce his turnovers when going from college to the NFL.

Honestly, if Winston starts 16 games as a rookie, he may set a new NFL turnover record.

Exactly. Matt Ryan threw 19 and somehow got a 100 million dollar contract.

Winston threw 18 interceptions last year, and he had a borderline 2nd round receiver and arguably the best TE in college football.  I'm legit confused how people see that he is an amazing talent.  It looks like hes just an average QB without an immense amount of talent around him in college.

Who is the borderline 2nd round WR? The highest Greene is projected to go is in the 3rd, and many have him in the 4th.

O'Leary is going 4th.

In Winston's two years at FSU the highest player on offense will be KB, who was the 8th pass catcher taken in his draft, or possibly Cam Erving, who is projected to go in the 2nd.

Winston, by far, is the highest rated offensive talent on the team this year or last year. And will be the highest taken player too.

Cool story, but he had the best defense, and a poo ton of weapons the year they won a National Title.  Sorry I'm not impressed by that.

I don't know if Winston will translate well into the NFL or not, nor do I know if he will have off field issues.

I do know a guy who threw 23 INT's compared to 17 TD's as a senior in college all while having questionable character due to widespread reports of drug use.

He then went to the NFL and made 9 pro bowls, NFL MVP, NFL Man of the year award for his work off the field, set countless NFL records then was elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

His only blemish was not winning a Superbowl and single-handedly ruining Christmas for millions of people all over this great country of ours by convincing them that Isotoner gloves were the must have Christmas gift year after year and who the fug wants gloves for Christmas????

Yeah I'm talking about you Dan "The Grinch" Marino.

Doesn't that apply to every QB? Vincent Jackson and Evans will get open, tho.

True, most QBs tend to make mistakes when that is the case. But in terms of Winston, if his first and second read are covered, he will force it instead of finding a checkdown if the pressure is coming. If you watch the Oregon-FSU game again, you can see him do it over and over.

You act as if every college QB has NFL caliber weapons. None of Mariota receivers are even getting mentioned.
