I got faith in BIG MIKE! A little background on Michael Oher.

I think people are underselling Remmers as "started well but ended not great". The guy had as much impact on our improved offence in the last 5 games as Norwell and pulled off some great blocks in pass protection when stretched. The only game he graded negatively in pass pro was the Seattle game - playoffs away in Seattle where our entire line struggled and All-pro lineman struggle to communicate in that atmosphere.

Consider this almost as his rookie season - he has a total of 6 games played, is only 26 and has an off-season to improve. I seem to be a lot more excited about him than most.

I'm looking at the pick ups of Oher and Martin and thinking that Gettleman, if he's right, just won the free agent season. Bear with me here.

He has picked up two experienced tackles, who have played both left and right positions at the professional level, one even starting/winning the Super Bowl. One was a first round draft pick, the other a second round pick. Both were All-Americans in college and were playing among the top echelons of competition at Ole Miss and Stanford respectively.

Oher, due to injuries, had a rough year in 2014 and was released by the Titans. Martin was released by the 49ers after a season in which their coaching position became a dumpster fire, and had left the dumpster fire that was the Miami Dolphins the year before after a pretty crappy hazing incident.

Now, Gettleman, who has been known to be able to scout well and bargain hunt with the best of them, felt good enough about these two to bring them in. Imagine if our good coaching, excellent training staff and team spirit gets these guys to perform at their best. We could end up with respectable, possibly good, tackles on both the left and right sides. They'd be teamed up with some mauler type guards and a very smart center.

It could be great. Look how far we made it the last couple of years with much less.
