Guess the Panthers' Schedule Contest

I just took the 188 trillion and divided by 9 (number of possible weeks that the bye could be on), then took that result and divided by 2 three separate times (due to the 50% chance of getting the home/away status of the three separate divisional opponents) which came out to...

2.61 trillion

some worth a poo at math calculate the odds of guessing each one at random (with two games for each NFCS foe) and getting it right

jase?

This is from my brother in law who is getting his PhD in Math right now. I told him that we will play a Divisional opponent in the last game.

"This is actually a great question for the Math 150 students.  I might  suggest this to the course coordinator

So the last game is 3 choose 1 (3 choices, one spot), or 3

The rest of the season is a permutation of 15 teams (10 teams, 3 teams repeated once, minus the team that plays last :  10 + 6 -1 = 15)

So the number of possible team orderings is 3*15! (15! being 15 factorial) or 3 trillion 923 billion 23 million 104 thousand"

Sooo......at least my contest is fun, right?

"THE TIDE rises, the tide falls,

The twilight darkens, the curlew calls;

Along the sea-sands damp and brown

The traveller hastens toward the town,

And the tide rises, the tide falls. 5

Darkness settles on roofs and walls,

But the sea, the sea in the darkness calls;

The little waves, with their soft, white hands,

Efface the footprints in the sands,

And the tide rises, the tide falls. 10

The morning breaks; the steeds in their stalls

Stamp and neigh, as the hostler calls;

The day returns, but nevermore

Returns the traveller to the shore,

And the tide rises, the tide falls."
