Panthers expected to sign Tillman per source

Maybe it's said but its 3 mill. That's a lot for a player whose only played 10 games out of 32 in two years. That's starter money for us

Yeah, I was expecting another minimum signing, so I'm a bit surprised. Saw where the Seahawks and another team were interested, so teams were obviously pretty optimistic on his rehab.

3.05 million, huh? That's pretty steep. Hope this works out. Also, this pretty much deads the possibility of Jennings coming. That's dead, which is fine with me as I didn't think he schematically fit with us.

I'm meh to the signing of Peanut..

I didn't really like the signing when I thought it was going to be for the minimum salary benefit, but I didn't really mind.

I definitely do not like it for $3M. This ends any chance of us getting Jennings and pretty much eliminates any chance at getting a comp pick for Hardy next year.

The players association has us at $10,111,139 before this signing.

If it's really $3.05m, then that number slides to $7,646,139 once you factor in bumping a minimum salary out of the top 51.

Then, pending any other signings or moves during the draft, our rookies will bring us down to $6,682,379.

And on May 12 we'll gain back $2,333,333 from DeAngelo, bringing us to $9,015,712.

Roughly.

Supposed to be $5M dedicated to rookies. Even still, I don't think this signing for $3M takes away the chance of getting Greg.

In total, sure, our rookies will get paid over $5.5m + more for any UDFAs. But only the first two picks (barring trades) will make enough to count toward the top 51 contracts. Their projected amount will be $2,133,760.

Then consider that they'll bump two salaries of $585k out of the top 51, so the net impact becomes $963,760 for the rookie class, at least until we cut down to 53.
