If we don't expect him to be an every down contributor than this a great signing.  He could surprise and still be capable of being the #2 corner or nickel but we can't plan that way.  At a minimum, he's a great vet leader to help continue the growth of our young team.

Tillman has been one of the top corners in the league throughout his career.  Harper has just been another safety.

This is the last contract he will get.  He's had a pretty amazing career.  I predict he will have a smashing season.  More than stats, he will mentor our young DB's.  He'll teach them the "punch" and be another veteran.. I know we slag off Roman Harper but I believe he has helped our younger players.  I think the same will be the same for Tillman except I believe he has a little left in the tank.  He's played 10 games the last two seasons.  He's healthy and rested.

I don't see any reason to doubt that he still has something left in the tank. He tore his triceps last year after 2 games and missed 8 games the season before. He's played at a very consistent level his entire career. Averaged like 3 INTs and about 70 tackles every year of his career. Averages about 3 FF every year too. He has not shown that he is slipping. He was on pace for that (but actually 6 INT pace) in 2013.

 

Great pick up and I hope it's for more than 1 year. Would like to see a 2 year deal for him but the specifics don't upset me.

he will be the "old Ben" Obi Wan Kenobi of the group. Hopefully he can teach that ball punching (ouch) technique to the youngsters. We need more turnovers next year.

Between Peanut, Norman, Bene, and White we have a very solid group there. Even if we don't sign Jennings we can prepare to take a WR if not two early in the draft.

We're gonna have very few holes to fill on draft day. BPA is going to work for us this year.
