NFL says they're firing their worst officials

This is a somewhat separate note but the networks really need to tone back the "celebrity ref" explanations. I realize they are paying these guys so much money but less is more.

 

Mike Carrey needs to grow some hair back, talk to MArv Albert or something. Nobody wants to see that weird shiny ball above his eyes.

The $175,000 annual salary for part time work should be enough thanks and motivation alone.

I've never really encountered anyone ever that did a better job because they knew they couldn't get fired.

That's what I'm saying. People don't do better with absolute job security.

But that money is very good for that part time job. So I guess that is thanks enough.

The Panthers do seem to get some local cable scrub announcers. I assume it has to do with market size but damn. I suppose if we start winning more that will change. But our history in national games is not so good. Except for that amazing Superb Owl in 2003.
