McCoy vs Kelly

Mr. Scot

We got further then philly on technicalities not based on skill or our team being better. It was luck of the draw.

Regular season: 32–31–1 (.508)

Vs.

Regular season 20–12 (.625)

A barely over .500 coach In 4 seasons or a guy who has been winning games consistently for years at every level of coaching. Hmmm this is a hard one

This is the way the NFL is now. It's a passing offensive league. If you don't see these rule changes and see the trend towards more offensive high powered teams idk what to tell you.

Let's be honest. We didn't deserve to make it to the playoffs or win our playoff game. We got extremely lucky. Philly had a better record and beat us during the season but they didn't get to go to the playoffs. That's not a fault of their coach or their system it's a league fault.

We played a 3rd string qb. Their offense set a record for being the worst in playoff history and we still almost lost.

Yet the Cowboys, Seahawks, Packers, Patriots, Steelers, Ravens, Bengals all have strong running games. And Kelly himself has invested quite a bit in RB himself this year. Nothing wrong with having a great explosive O that racks up points but you don't want to wear you own Defense out doing it. While being up tempo helps the offense it hinders the defense, especially after a quick 3 and out.

All the rest are ifs and buts, 1 team went home a week or two early and it wasn't the Panthers.

This isn't soccer, we aren't in the Premier League. There are no regular season champs in the NFL.

Chip Kelly didn't take over the Carolina Panthers either. While the Eagles had a horrible record the year he took over they actually had some talent, akin to the Chiefs when they picked low. They just tanked that year, Reid was going through some really deep stuff.

But you realize you need to win regular season games to make it to the playoffs yes?

Any other year besides last Eagles make it to the playoffs and the panthers sit at home. Then your whole going a step further argument falls to pieces and you are left with only one thing. Chip Kelly is a better coach and knows how to win games.

Your argument is super weak if you are only basing success off of one easy playoff win. I'll take the results chip has shown for years he is capable of providing over the mediocre performance Rivera has posted in double the time.

If we are going by trends Eagles will win more than 8 games while we are going to be around average.

Now that's something I really can't get with. We did deserve to be there, and we did deserve to win a playoff game, otherwise we wouldn't have. The NFL is set up in divisions for a reason. Just because the division had an off year, doesn't mean you throw out the whole season or way of doing things. There are too many variables and scenarios from year to year, including luck, injuries, and strength of schedule for example to say this team did or didn't deserve it just because the division as a whole had a tough year.

The overall NFL system has worked for years and made the NFL the most successful sport in this country. Teams that win more games than some who actually make the playoffs miss out every year, so no need to cry about it just because a team gets in who fell short of .500. It happens sometimes. Part of the strategy to get to the postseason is to win your division. Chip Kelly couldn't do it, and that's just the way it is.

In a normal year if we posted that record we wouldn't have made it to the playoffs. We in no way deserved to be there and to top it off we probably had the biggest gimme playoff game ever and still almost lost.

The Eagles were a better team then us last year. You can spin it anyway you want but that's the truth

Maybe they should have won their division first instead of choking away 3 out of their last 4. They lost to the redskins.

The Cowboys lost to the Redskins at home. We lost to the sorry ass saints and falcons last year.

If the playoffs were the best teams make it then we would have been sitting at home watching. There's no other way to spin that. It's the truth.

The cowboys lost to the redskins when it didn't matter and they won their division. And the falcons and saints had better records than the redskins, who only had 3 wins when they beat the Eagles. The truth is, it's a 16 game season and we won 4 out of our last 4 and we got in, unlike them losing the last 3 out of their last 4. Cowboys btw won out too. Those aren't ifs, that was reality

The Carolina Huddle where even after winning our div and a playoff game we are no better than the browns.

Its like the 180 of the saints board.

I mean if you have to resort to straw man arguments sure. I didn't call us the Browns. I said we weren't better than the Eagles which we weren't. And that chip Kelly is a better coach than anyone ever gave him credit for before and still til this day because those same people don't want to be wrong about him. Many many posters called him a Saban spurrier clone and that he wouldnt last because college coaches are terrible.

Yet he has had back to back winning seasons and back to back top 5 offenses which is more than I can say for Rivera.

Cause that was the option fire Rivera for Kelly and this is where we are now. Getting lucky to be in the playoffs after failing to go have another winning season.

And we have the right to question any one else's personnel moves when we can't even have the success he's had? Yeah ok huddle.

Nice on moving goal posts.

The fact remains that division games are usually 50/50 and at no way an accurate measure to say a team is good or not just because they lost one division game. In a head to head match up they crushed us. They were the better team last year. Point blank period.

The NFC East hasn't exactly been a quality division for the last two seasons either.

The Giants and Redskins have both been garbage. The Cowboys were good last year but were lucky to make 500 the year before (people had Garrett as a lock to be fired).
