Early reviews for Netflix's "Daredevil"...

Marvel is trying to stay away from adult oriented material. I don't blame them. Disney wants to keep a key demographic BUT WB is going the gritty route. Despite Growl trying to rip it, Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy and Man of Steel were highly successful. Both approaches work.

Daredevil is pretty gruesome. (torture, broken bones coming through skin, human trafficking)

And word is Age of Ultron is darker than previous movies.

Because they can afford to do it on Netflix, and plus, it's Daredevil. His comics haven't exactly been 'kid' friendly. Would Marvel ever attempt to bring this version of Daredevil to the big screen nowadays? Lulz, no. The same goes for The Punisher. It's not because they choose NOT to. They don't have a choice because Disney pulls the strings. Compromises are reached. If you think Marvel can release a rated R version of Daredevil on the big screen, then you're insane.

Flash and Arrow are on the CW appeasing to teenage girls. Yet, at the same time, they're watchable. In addition, The Flash and Green Arrow aren't notorious for darker subject matter than Daredevil.

You keep saying this Disney thing and it's silly. Marvel is a subsidiary of Disney the same as Miramax is; the producers of Kill Bill, Trainspotting, etc.

Like Marvel was making R rated movies before Disney bought them? Practically no blockbuster style movies of any company or studio are rated R. They don't reach a wide enough audience. I really don't get the point you're trying to make.

I hope we get Season 2 next year but they may wait for the other shows to be done first.

Netflix should push for Ghost Rider, Punisher, Moon Knight, etc to be made into shows as well.    Have a new comic show every 2 months or so, would be good for the service.

The comparisons and parallels between Murdock and Fisk are beautiful.

They are a whole lot alike in a lot of ways.

Cool to see them both have their experiences with first drinks of alcohol as kids.

Am I the only one who thinks Vanessa is super smoking hot?

Agree on all counts, and Ayelet Zurer (actress who plays Vanessa) is gorgeous.
