Early reviews for Netflix's "Daredevil"...

Movie met expectations, it was amazing.   He played Murdock super well.  Fight scenes were top notch.  Fisk was well played and thought out.  I thought supporting acting was pretty good, and they did the "side kick" role well with Foggy, better than most do.

The only thing I have to say is it got slow the last 3rd of the season but finished great.   But they did use that time to flesh out the characters.  These characters felt more "real" than most of the comic stuff we've seen.

Now we also need a Punisher, Ghost Rider, and Moon Knight show this way, all would be perfect on here.

If all of marvels movies and series turn out to be this adult oriented and as realistic as daredevil I'll be happy.

I was really happy with the Kingpin character. I actually wanted him to beat Daredevil. I hope he is still going to be the main villain in season two assuming there will be a season two.

I love the way Kingpin tells his lady at the fancy restaurant how he wants to make his city a better place, and then a few scenes later daredevil and his lady are in both battered in a beat up apartment and daredevil tells his lady the same thing.

Both men want to make the city a better place, both have different ideas of that in mind.

What's really interesting is now Kingpin and DD have a common enemy!

I'm 8 episodes in and it is WAY MORE than what I expected.

Honestly watching I hope Netflix can work out a deal to develop The Punisher.

Semi-not really- spoiler(s)

The only gripe I have so far is even though I love Vincent D'Onofrio and he is acting his ass off I don't like how they've portrayed The Kingpin up to this point as kind of socially awkward and kinda almost unsure of himself. (Like I said I just finished 8 and there seemed to be a shift in the character at the end)

Other than that its been GREAT. Stick was perfect, Foggy is Perfect and Charlie Cox has thankfully made me forget that mess that was Ben Affleck...

Plus you know The Hand is going to be in it!

.

Spoiler alert: they aren't going to.

Marvel and their consumers have proven that what they desire is stuff that is "good" rather than "gritty realism"

If you think they're going to stop that then save your money.

It works with Daredevil because that's who he is and that's the world he lives in. Not all of the MU lives in that side of the world.

Watching this series has made me think movies may not be the way to go with some of the characters. I can only imagine how awesome a 13 episode run of Punisher or Ghost Rider would be

It's made me think Marvel may be a little more willing to put a major character in the expanded universe in a weekly series rather than smaller, isolated factions like AoS and Agent Carter.

Marvel is trying to stay away from adult oriented material. I don't blame them. Disney wants to keep a key demographic BUT WB is going the gritty route. Despite Growl trying to rip it, Nolan's Dark Knight Trilogy and Man of Steel were highly successful. Both approaches work.

If they were trying to stay away from it, why did they just release a series more 'gritty' than either of those WB ones you named?

There's a difference between avoiding it and not trying to force it. It would be stupid to shove 'grittiness' into a Thor movie. It works perfectly in a Daredevil series.

It's called not doing it just for the sake of doing it, but doing it because it's true to your universe.
