Early reviews for Netflix's "Daredevil"...

This show has me like a battered wife. There'll be a long period where it's boring as poo and I want to just quit and then something awesome will happen. I'll also say that the 2nd half of the season is a lot better so far too.

It's pretty damn solid.  I hope they don't push back the release of AKA Jessica Jones until 2016.  Daredevil + AKA Jessica Jones in one calendar year is the stuff nerd wet dreams are made of. Daredevil, JJ, and the manimal Luke Cage brought to life on the small screen.  It's almost too much, but at the same time not enough.

Iron Fist? No love for him?

I really don't get why fanboys can't enjoy everything. There's things from Marvel that I like and there's things from DC that I like. Everyone has to make everything into a war like they're personally getting something out of it.

Nolanites aren't representative of all fans of comic book based live action stories. Nolanites are the ones who create multiple accounts on sites like IMDb to vote down movies like Iron Man, Avatar, and The Avengers because they can't stand the thought of anything being rated higher than The Dark Knight.

Most of the people who like Marvel movies do so just because they are usually good or "fun." They aren't ROOTING FOR DC TO FAIL, so I wouldn't qualify those types of people as "fanboys."

I hated Man of Steel, not because it was a "DC property" (I love the Christopher Reeves, "Superman II", and liked Superman Returns more than most people). I hated Man of Steel because I don't think Zack Snyder's "style" suits a Superman movie. Snyder made 300. Superman didn't need to be as dark-looking and gray as 300, or have similar costumes.

If the whole DCCU looks like 300, it's going to be hard for me to like it. That's DC's fault for putting Snyder in charge of their film universe.

And yes, I loved 300, but that doesn't mean every DC Comics movie needs to look like 300.

The casting of Mike Colter (6'3) for Luke Cage couldn't have been more spot on:

I also have a soft spot for Krysten Ritter's "ODD FACE." And, let's just say, I approve of her "grooming" photos (The Fappening).

AKA Jessica Jones and Luke Cage will have crossovers. Jessica Jones is supposed to come out later this year. Not sure if Cage or Iron Fist will be next, since Luke Cage will be in more than half of the Jessica Jones episodes. These guys have actual powers (Jones is supposed to be able to fly), so it's going to be interesting to see how these two are brought to life.

OK, getting away from fanboyism for a bit...

I watched the first three episodes and it is much better than I predicted. At first I didn't think the actor playing Murdock was very believable, but he fits very well with the role as it is written.

I'm not as overly familiar with the Daredevil universe as I am with other characters, so I may miss some of the more subtle plot devices.

In any case, I had low expectations, but the story is very intriguing so far

I've been trying to avoid binging on it to try and stretch it out as long as possible. I've made it through five episodes so far and it's been really terrific,

As for AKA JJ, I don't know that I think that'll be a true "super hero" show. I think tilt more focus more on how a person with powers lives a normal life or yada yada pl with flashbacks to her past stint as a crime fighter. Then again it will have Purple Man with David Tennant which I'm mega excited for, so maybe im wrong. I'm just guessing that the focus will be even more on her the character rather than a hero persona, at least until the Defenders drops.

just finished the season. Random thoughts with very light spoilers:

- It's good

- I wish there was more lawyer stuff

- The fight scenes are perfect.

- Kingpin really makes the show worth watching. Such a great villain and amazing acting.

- I absolutely can't believe they killed off the person/people they did. They/it was a huge part of the comics.

- I'm not completely sold on the guy who plays Daredevil. The rest of the cast is brilliant though.

- Mildly disappointed we didn't get some other villains in the first season. That really would have helped out some of the slower episodes.

- it'll probably be better when I rewatch it eventually with tempered expectations

- They definitely need to improve the actual daredevil suit
