While his outfit might look kind of tacky, it also looks super comfortable. Speaking as a fellow tall guy(6'5") even first class on domestic flights can feel cramped. Loose clothing and loose shoes/uggs make it a lot easier. I'm sure he's flown enough to know what's comfortable for flying, and he's rich and famous enough to not give a poo what a bunch of old dudes think about his fashion choices.
