Buck Allen vs Duke Johnson

Is Stewart not a 3rd down back either? How about Williams? McCoy? How about Demarco Murray, is he a 3rd down back?

Be careful as to how you respond, because all those backs are the same height and within 10 lbs of another.

I really hate it when people "act" like they know what they're talking about, and they don't. On the other hand, I know nothing about Buck other than he's out of USC. I could read a scouting report on him but why bother? A scouting report doesn't tell you what your eyes have seen following a player for 3 years. I digress

I know body built doesn't mean poo to you...

So I'm not going to waste my time explaining the different body prototypes..

I'll just let reality hit you when Duke is backing up another RB his whole career..

Same height/weight of several players doesn't equal the same body type?

Good night Sir

No it doesn't genius..

Words like

Compact

Long

Thickness

Slim

Are body type differences..

Can you honestly look at Stewart and Duke Johnson and think they are built the same? ?

My choice would be Buck Allen because we have a Fozzy and we have a Stewart.  Buck is not the same back as either of these and provides a home run thread anytime he gets through the line.  His vision and change of direction, along with his speed are pretty impressive.  Duke is a good back also.

My opinion on the whole RB class this year:  we have the 1st tier pair Gurley and Gordon (round 1).  The 2nd tier pair of Abdullah and Ajayi (round 2).  Then the 3rd tier group of Johnson, Davis, Allen, Coleman, Yeldon and Langford (round 3+).  All groupings ordered by my preference.

I believe Buck Allen has more of a chance to be an every down back compared to Duke Johnson who seems to be more of a change of pace/ 3rd down back. Johnson has had injury issues but I believe he has a higher ceiling than Allen. Allen has only had one good season which could be bad but could be good because he has less miles compared to Johnson who is Miami's all time rusher.

Here is NFL.coms info on the two so you can make your own opinion on the two.

    • The problem with drafting a DE/EDGE high in the 1st is the bust factor.  That position group busts at a scary rate.  We HAVE to hit our first 3 rounds.  Cant take chances on tweeners or potential guys.
    • Man folks right on this site said Deion was gonna follow his son to the nfl and have a big impact on his draft stock with his interference and yet we have seen no such thing. He just signed an extension to stay in Colorado for the foreseeable future. The only thing we have seen is so called experts try to tank shedeurs stock with false accusations and rumors and deion just had to step in and shut it down. This why you have to stop listening to what certain people say. Too much hate and emotion in most opinions.
    • That's sound logic! I think we could make a case for a few players. I know its not popular  with a few but Warren gives to the  identity we want. Tremble is mostly a blocker. Sanders flashed late but mostly a receiving  threat at the moment. Warren is an automatic 1st down, run blocks, runs the ball and can even line up and throw it. To me he is if you took the Taysom Hill and actually could play tight end too. I just think looking at Goedert, Kelce,  Laporta, Hoeckenson, Baltimore Tight ends, Knox and Kindcaid and etc... all the  last few teams had stellar Tight end play. Warren allows you to be unpredictable  on offense bc he is equally good at being a target, as he is a blocker. Don't want to run Bryce on a qb sneak, plug Warren in with the threat to pass. I would be happy with him, Walker or a few others. As long as the player isn't riding the bench year 1.
