Charles casserly on cam newton

Why is our fanbase so insecure about Cam that we have to seek validation from people in the media? I don't care what this guy thinks about Cam.. He's our quarterback, and he's our franchise

That has nothing to do with it.  For some reason "we" hope against hope that these ass hats can get us closer to our favorite teams, provide in depth coverage and be the most knowledgeable people in their fields.

Then they come on TV, look directly in the camera and name an undrafted rookie, a lazy fat faced QB that gets to throw to Calvin Johnson, and a QB that has never been healthy enough to show his abilities and has been a colossal bust in Sam Bradford as already better QB's than Cam Newton.  Its a complete joke.

I don't need ESPN to get me closer to this team.. that's what the local people that actually care about the team are for.. Like Voth

Yes, us diehards are very familiar with the Voth's, the huddles, and other nerd level sites that have the factual stuff.  ESPN is not for us, but the casual fan doesn't know better and eats that crap up. Then we have to tell them how dumb they are.

Winston was being interviewed after his pro day on NFL Network.  A blonde female asked him about his past-when did he mature or learn his lesson (not her words, but her intent).  He responded, "When I had to sit out the Clemson game.  I knew the team was counting on me and they would blame me if we lost." (something very close to that).

I wonder what she was thinking?

I think he still doesn't get it.  I think he is smart and I think he is a good qb--but I do not think he has learned his lesson.  After what he is accused of doing, some remorse for his actions would be in order.  Some humility.  Lets face it--1 game for rape?  First overall pick and a multi-million dollar contract.  Lesson learned? I see nothing but self-admiration when I see him talk.

He has been coached on what to say, but he is one of the most egotistical personalities I have seen.  Expect him, once the dust has settled and he has forgotten the rehearsed lines that , to screw up again.

Some of you will disagree.  You would be wrong.  If he turns it around, I will be shocked and eat crow for it.  By the end of his rookie year, he will be back in the headlines for something negatively unrelated to football.

Should Duke Lacrosse player feel some "humility" after being accused of rape? I mean "humility" should be in order after calling their accuser racial slurs and kicking her out of their "little house party."

I try to avoid conversing with casual fans haha

After spending a little time lurking on other team's message boards, it's clear that every single fan base does this.

Don't say anything to him.

He will be one of the first persons making threads and posts blaming Newton directly or making inferences about how Newton should have played perfect.

Yet here he is in the off-season criticizing a PATHERS MESSAGE BOARD for bring to light what prominent TV personalities are saying about the most recognizable player on the PANTHERS.

He will be one of the first persons to start quoting Charles C. when making his next negative assessment of Newton. Yet PANTHERS FANS "should get over it."

lol at the complete and utter ignorance.

You think members of that team accused should feel humility after having their names drugged to through the mud given all the holes in the accusers story?

Sorry, I don't.

There is NO excuse to accuse anyone and then attempt to have them prosecuted for a story that doesn't even rise to the level "plausible" creditability. And I don't care what nasty, vile, disgusting names she was called by them as they basically chased her out of the house. Unacceptable.

The only person who should feel some in this, who should feel some humility, is Erica who the second Winston's rookie campaign is over should slap her, her aunt, and her "investors" (attorneys) with a defamation lawsuit.

FSU should not be far behind in filing their suit either.

Are you talking about Duke Lacrosse or FSU football?  Secondly,  are you pretending to know the facts or are you going on what you read in the paper?

I expected humility from that turd because he is a royal dick-physically, verbally, etc.  Do you think the real Winston is the one behind the mic after his pro day or the one standing on furniture in the student union screaming jokes about objectifying women?  Let me help you with that--the latter.  That is why I expected humility.  He should be embarrassed because he has been a turd.  Instead, arrogant, cocky, and smiling-- Because he repeatedly let his university down and degrades women.  No court is necessary to convince me of that.  When he screws up during his rookie season, I will ask you to revisit this exchange.  Suing someone is not defamation.  But publicly calling someone "nasty, vile, disgusting names" can be.  So if you want to link Duke and Fla State, go ahead.  They are pretty unrelated.  I am--as you are--allowed to have an opinion that is based on what I see in his character-don't need a court, lawyer, or you to help me there.

Banners at the top of the page are fair game...

This woman looks like the woman from Boston legal who kept talking about her "vagina." It was hilarious.

She was hooking up with Brad Chase, and they broke up because he couldn't stand how freely she used the word "vagina," and he refused to say the word.

How is that not the same person?
