Person tweets Jennings not with Panthers

We are playing the long game here people... Why is everyone so short sighted and can't see the big picture?

The long game died in 1992. And the short game got even shorter in 2011. There have been 22 actual GMs who have taken their team to the Super Bowl since 1992. Do you know how many of those GMs took longer than 3 seasons to get their team to that level by using the long game? None. They all win with the short game. Some sustain their success with a system that keeps reloading their short game and builds off the previous window that closed for the team.

The Panthers are playing with old school coaches and an old school GM. If you do not evolve with the game, you get left behind.

That is the big picture in the modern day NFL.

Wait... what?

Ozzie Newsome: GM since 2002 won super bowl in 2013, contenders and in the playoffs every year

Ted Thompson: GM since 2005, won Super Bowl in 2011, Pack contenders each year

John Schneider: GM since 2010 (4 years to win a Super Bowl and set the team up for success for years to come)

Bill Belichick: Football Czar since forever, always in the playoffs year after year because they get rid of the fat

Mickey Loomis: GM since 2002 super bowl in 2010 hit the wall this year.

All of those teams have been contenders and sustained long term success, specifically the Pats, Pack, and Ravens. The Seahawks are at the beginning of their potential dynasty run, and the saints are starting to lose it because of the dumbass shortsighted moves Loomis has been trying to make because their window closes when Brees is done. Trying to win in a small window time period can turn ugly, really quickly. Remember the Eagle's dream team?

Building a consistent winning team isn't "reloading the short game". What the hell does that even mean? You basically described how successful organizations are able to contend year after year... with a strategy that looks at the big picture and allows them to compete over a long period of time instead of one playoff run every few years... The only teams I can think of recently who follow the hypothetical reload strategy are the Giants and Marlins... and the Giants needed a lot of luck doing so. I don't think you know what you're talking about there.

So by your logic, you want us to blow all our Money on a few  mid tier guys to go all in on a super bowl run this year because these one or two guys are the missing piece to our Super Bowl Puzzle? What about next year when Cam's contract is out? What about the year after that when Luke's and Norman's are? The year after that when Olsen, Star, and KK are up for new deals? I don't even know who you want to bring in to replace these guys, but lord knows the new guys will be more expensive... You should check out the Saints forum dude, you'd absolutely LOVE what they are doing this offseason.

By laying low and signing role players these past few years, we are setting ourselves up pretty damn well for years to come. ALL of Hurney's poo contracts will finally be able to come off the books and we'll have close to 60 Million to work with... Give Cam 20 of that and we still have 40... That's a BUNCH of Cash. We could use that to extend Kuechly and Norman as well as go out and pick up a top tier Receiver/O-line/D-lineman to fill out our roster, and STILL have 10 million left over to dick around with... and that's if we don't end up with anyone decent in the upcoming draft WHICH HASN'T HAPPENED YET.

But nah man, let's throw a bunch of Money at Greg Jennings. Seems like a legit ass strategy.

I literally can't even right now... I'm going to bed.
