Why drafting a RB or defense won't solve our issues.

I already stated this earlier if we were to redo the draft do you really think we would draft Ealy ahead of those receivers we passed on? Ealy was a no show 80% of the season.

And what makes Gurley and Gordon the BPA? Both of them played for schools known for having productive college backs who aren't good pros.

You have the same problem that Hurney had. Looking for the quickest fix and not looking at the long term big picture. Ealy was a good pick who should make the typical big leap from rookie to year 2. Where he gets to play more instinctively as the need to think before you react lessens once you know the scheme and your role on every play. He made big improvement during the course of the season and should make even more. Wouldn't be surprised if we draft another one in the first 3 rounds.

As for Gurley or Gordon, if you think they are a game changer who contributes right away you might take them in the first. But I would think that if you can find very similar value later in the draft and a guy like Strong or Perriman are there as well, you go for the wide receiver. Because they are not only at a position of need but they are the BPA if you think that wide receiver value drops off substantially after that while running back does not.

I'm not really looking for a quick fix, I'm looking to win right now, not 3 years from now. A receiver like Martivus Bryant or Moncrief might of been able to put us over the top of Seattle, you never know.  Overlooking  present time for the future isn't a good idea IMO

The way the NFL is now no RB is worth a 1st round pick anymore IMO, and there facts to back that up. Outside of AP you can't name one leading rushers in the past 5 season selected in the first round. When was the last SB winner to select a RB in the first round?
