Thinking about the moves DG has made has me now seeing the "forest instead of the trees". He has stuck to his philosophy of low free agents and building through the draft. I know some moves didn't work as planned, but that hasn't caused Getty to deviate, as a fan I can appreciate that. Fans, take time to think back to years past, we didn't know what would see week to week let alone year to year. I'm looking forward to the future of the Panthers.

I agree whole heartedly. I'm looking forward to our future as well. I long for the Carolina Panthers to be known as a consistent winning team. We have some good pieces in place for this to happen...

We just solidified our return men in Toddman, and Ginn. We picked up two vets at the LT position for pennies on the dollar. We are truly in the position to draft BPA. Somehow, he's almost making me forget about how he handled Smittys departure last year.

These are the kind of signings that breed competition.

With that said, I say we go WR (Perriman) in the first, RB (Johnson) in the second, followed by OT, OT in 3 and 4, and then DBs in the 5th. Maybe trading our original 5th to get back in the 4th for a guy they really like at DE/LB.

That's what I see happening. If Perriman is off the board, you go OT in that situation.

I really appreciate the "forest instead of the trees" sentiment.  He does have a big picture plan.  A lot of fans get caught up in the individual tree, but a single tree doesn't define a forest.  There are lots of other trees, rocks, bushes, and other stuff.

In that respect, we'll see if Gettleman is able to groom the team into a better team by careful trimming and adding to the roster instead of mega splash deals with the big name FAs (I mean, there's a reason these guys end up FAs or last this long...).
