Which round do we trade up?

I think it's a definite possibility that we grab more second round picks, either by trading down from rd 1 and/or trading up. There's not much first round talent in this draft and there's a lot more players who have second round numbers. If there's one thing Gman holds onto above anything it's value, if he feels a significant player is still available he has the picks to do what's needed.

lol carolina isn't gonna move down for free, 3rd round pick is the other teams compensation.

I get that. But who the hell is going to be so hot for the 25 pick that they're willing to give up a 3rd? We've already heard there are basically only 20 first round grades. Who in the seven picks behind us would make that deal and for which player?

If you had not quite drinking I would definitely think you were drunk right now.

its by value of the pick, carolinas #25 pick has a value of 720, moving down to say #31, its value is 600, a difference of 120.  The last pick in the 3rd round has a value of 116.  Its not as far fetched as it sounds, also gm's tend to give a little more than straight up pick value to entice a team to trade.

also it depends on how the draft falls.  Their could be a run on a particular position.

I want to trade down a few spots picking up an extra 3rd, use both third round picks to move back up into the 2nd. Giving us a total of a 1st and 3x 2nd round picks.

I'm confused how you got a first and three 2nds out of this. It seems like it would be a first and two 2nds or just three 2nds with no first

I wouldn't mind if Gettleman traded up to the top of the 3rd to get a guy he likes. We have 9 picks and realistically probably only 6-7 rookies will make the team. So when you factor in maybe 1 UDFA making the roster you've got around 2-4 draft picks that probably won't be on the 53 man roster so using a couple of the picks at the end of the draft to move up is probably the best way to get the most out of our picks. There will almost certainly be someone who Gettleman has in 40-50 range on his board that is available around pick 70 so I'd like to see him go get that player. Our 3rd and 5th should be enough to make that happen and with two comp picks still in the 5th I think that is a safe gamble.

lol cmon RR, there were 2 similar trades last draft.

The Cardinals traded the No. 20 selection to the Saints for the No. 27 pick and a third-round selection (No. 91)

The Eagles traded the No. 22 pick to the Browns for the No. 26 selection and a third-round selection (No. 83)
