The Falcons explanation seems a little odd

So, from what I've read, a big part of the reason the NFL went easy on the Falcons is because they determined that nobody in the team's upper management was involved.

Instead, the mastermind of this insidious plot to pump additional crowd noise into the stadium and disrupt opposing team offenses was...

...a marketing director?

So inbetween coming up with ad campaigns, approving commercials and trying to find ways to sell more tickets, merchandise and cheap, high quality jerseys, this office guy conceived a plan to try and psych out opposing teams on the field from behind his desk in the marketing department?

I'm hoping that they find out he got a million to lie and say it was all him and then the Falcons get fuged over for real when that comes out.

That's just stuck in my head ever since it came out. How in the hell would an office guy - a guy named Roddy White, oddly enough - come up with a plot to disrupt action on the playing field?

Marketing is PSYOP. I have no doubt this creative ass dreamed himself into a corner with an idea. I do doubt the execution of it. But in the end I'm fine with them getting a 5th rd taken next yr. I just can't bring myself to be that outraged about this scandal.

It's a convenient explanation for sure. But quite literally any explanation would be met with down right skepticism and more than a few conspiracy theories.

It honestly can happen.  Marketing people have option to buy poo to improve stadium without authorization from the owner.  Thing is... Maaaaaannnnnnnyyyyyy people knew about it.  Marketing have to get authorization from Finance department because it was not in the budget I'm sure.  Who authorized marketing department funds for these speakers?
