Don't see how you got the idea that I'm "being a homer" and I never said they weren't more successful than us. The goal is sustained success and multiple Super Bowls. And the key to that formula is not "getting weapons for the QB."

Healthy throughout the year, Shula changes his ways, Cam becomes elite consistently, we find decent play from a #2 WR and LT, and special teams greatly improve. 

 

 

Seems like a long list, but all teams have questions marks. I'd say as it stands today, we could be the 3rd or 4th best team in the NFC. If the draft goes our way, we could challenge the Seahawks and Packers.

I don't know about a Super Bowl but I like the idea of being consistently in the playoffs. You have to get there to have a chance to move on. Winning a Super Bowl is about getting home field advantage through the playoffs. I think we are building with young guys supplemented by veterans and that is a sustainable winning formula. I don't think anyone thought 2003 was going to be a Super Bowl year before it unfolded as it did. So I don't think we can predict when it might happen again. But I like this team to win the division this year. And that gets you into the playoffs and at least 1 home game.

QB driven league, what we've done is build around a coach. Look at chip kelly? Why do you think he's been building a defense? Because defense isn't his thing and he knows he needs talent on that side and he can figure the offense out. Meanwhile we rely on one guy to generate our offense so that Ron can have his defense that drops to bottom 5 when it matters.

Not enough. . Hurney drafted 3 WR'S and signed the RB'S (to bs contracts) to help the combination of Matt Moore and Jimmy Clausen. .

This doesnt even make sense, so you mean if we win a super bowl this year it would only be because of pure luck and injuries to other teams? Isnt that what every team faces? Its a part of the game and though devastating to a team it doesnt mean it wasnt won on their own merit.
