Panthers Win Super Bowl IF?

March is drawing to a close and the team has made several minor moves. I want to see some pie in the sky optimism explaining how our moves will help us win the Super Bowl.

The Panthers will win the Super Bowl IF Jonathan Martin and Michael Oher play like 1st and 2nd round picks. If these guys can revitalize their careers Cam will have time to find Ginn deep. The safeties will start dropping deeper opening things up for Greg Olsen and the running game.

Last year Mr. Igo often harped on our lack of drafted talent. We now boast 4 lineman drafted in the first three rounds. Can our oline pave the way to victory?

The team one day decides to maximize Cam's talent the way the Colts have. Everything the Colts have done from coaching staff, to talent acquisition has been done to make sure Andrew Luck is successful.

But we plan on paying a QB 100 million to be a game manager. If your QB is going to make that much money you're going to start needing to get serious. But we have a Ferrari using Dollat store oil, while screaming the Ferrari needs to be more consistent....right.

How many Super Bowls have the Colts won using that strategy with Luck and Peyton before him? How many times have they gotten blown out in the playoffs in recent memory by a certain team with a certain coach and QB with a "lack of talent" around that QB?

    • I'm not religious. I don't care that he is. It has no impact on whether or not he will succeed as a head coach in the NFL. If he doesn't work out here so be it. I'm not wasting keystrokes going off on tangents about his personal life. If I were that deeply invested to that point I wouldn't even be following sports at all. Clearly for whatever reason you do as the previous threads you have created eviscerating Dave Canales over that and his personal life would clearly indicate. But that's your prerogative.
    • The approach we took to build the WR room is one I will always be miffed by. I’ve never liked our draft choices and it always leaves me feeling uneasy (even back to LaFell/Gettis/Armanti). I loved Pearsall and Ladd, but those just aren’t types we target for some reason. RB wise - Just seeing what Bucky Irving has done this year with guys Canales’ built his offense around last year, is enough to really make the RB approach seem questionable.  If we were unsure about Chuba preseason, then we should’ve gotten a guy who could’ve played immediately. If we were confident in Chuba, then we should’ve targeted a Ray Davis, Irving, Tracy, Guerendo etc a bit later and reserve the R2 capital for a potential long term starter.  The reasoning doesn’t entirely check out even though I love Brooks as a prospect.  I dunno, just still feels off. Same taste I got with the Horn pick. Same with bringing back Hurney. Just a big old ick.
