Why I think Owamagbe Odighizuwa will be the pick and should be the pick.

No it totally goes against their reasoning. . And Jerry who was already a hypocrite for turning a blind eye to Smitty's abuse.. But now you say "we do things the right way" I guess except when it concerns drug use..

Well to be fair "we do things the right way" doesn't mean anything. "Right" is not defined. So his way could be varied enough to draw lines between certain actions and not be hypocritical. He even told Shockey about not wanting all choir boys. So I think he has wiggle room to make sound decisions non hypocritical decisions about what he's willing to accept.

I'm trying to understand your argument. I thought you said their reasoning was they weren't going to retain Hardy pre-DV because they couldn't trust his decision making?

Fact so why will they use a 1st round pick on another player who is showing bad decision making. .

Who isn't even in Greg Hardy's league. .

Even if we were just renting Hardy there is a difference between committing to pay a guy you know you can't trust top five defensive end money and paying a guy on a rookie contract that you may not be able to trust. Doesn't make JR a hypocrite. They won't draft Gregory if they don't think he'll be able to right himself.

Oddly enough I dont think substance/drug issues seem to bother Gman/Rivera/JR as much seeing as how Frank Alexander failed two consecutive times and basicially missed a season because of it and hes still on the team.

That is more evidence it was only because of the nfl climate and media circus why Hardy is gone, dont think for one second thst if drugs and substance abuse blew up as hot button issue like domestic violence that big Frank wouldnt be bagging groceries right now

Hardy dropped to the 6th round for the same "kid being a kid excuse" .. Now let's use a 1st round pick on a dumbass who in reality isn't a 4-3 DE anyway..

Hardy dropped to the 6th for the kid being a kid excuse. We picked him up, had success with him, and his departure will probably net us a 3rd round compensatory pick. I'd say that's a pretty successful flip.

If Gregory is a top 15 talent and slides and we pick him up, maybe we'll have the same success?

And plenty of teams have had success using OLB's to rush the QB in a 4-3 base. He doesn't have to play DE in our scheme.

That's a good point and proof that the FO can differentiate between issues and not lump everything into a decision making morass.

So again Jerry is willing to accept pot heads and guys who beat the he'll out of teammates.. But not a guy who was allegedly accused of a misdemeanor by a crack head. .

This is exactly the point I tried to make several posts ago.

And many teams have failed trying to use 3-4 outside LBS in a 4-3 base as well.. So I guess we are cool with drafting a part time player in the 1st round. .

I respect you, but I feel like you're being deliberately obtuse.

We all agree Nicole Holder is a coke-head gold-digger. No one is debating that.

We are saying strictly from a business standpoint in today's media-fueled-frenzy of a world Jerry couldn't possibly keep Hardy around.

Again, when a pothead kills someone from being high, you'll see the team take a similar stance, but it isn't a hot button issue right now so it doesn't matter.

Well I think the current atmosphere prevents it. I understand what your point is about hypocrisy but I wouldn't worry much about it. Life is gray and often influenced by our environment a and the thoughts of others. JR does what he does. He wants everyone to think he's moral. He may want to be moral. He's allowed to have his own opinions.

I don't mind pot heads. And Steve is great but fiery. That guy beat up a girl? I'm against that.

It could be that simple. Right way only means what he believes. And wants others to believe.

And that makes Jerry a F'n hypocrite. . So he's good with paying people who commit some crimes and not elite players for others..

It also looks bad on Gettlemen because your reasoning for not giving Greg a long-term deal is the same reasoning you don't draft Gregory. .

Who again doesn't fit our scheme..

A lot of teams have failed using 3-4 outside linebackers as rushing 4-3 defensive ends.

I don't think if we pickup Gregory he'd have a hard time beating out Adarius Glanton for playing time as a 4-3 outside linebacker that also happens to rush the QB in some packages.

Steve beat up Bright and Lucas way more than Greg allegedly did to Holder..

1 still doesn't have full use of his eye and the other is on Ski trips and shopping sprees..
