Nicks would have been a lot better than cotchery

Not last year, he wasn't.

I know we have a lot of Nicks fanboys on here, but the reality is he's just not that good anymore.

More to the point, he's not as good (or worth as much money) as he thinks he is.

Nicks would have been a lot better than cotchery

2014 Season Comparison

Receptions/Targets

Cotchery: 48/78

Nicks: 38/68

Yards

Cotchery: 580

Nicks: 405

Yards Per Reception

Cotchery: 12.1

Nicks: 10.7

Touchdowns

Cotchery: 1

Nicks: 4

There is literally nothing at all to suggest that Nicks would have been better than Cotchery for us last year except for the grass is always greener fan bases wishing for it.

I understand that you're being facetious, but in all fairness, Hakeem Nicks went on to do nothing last year so Gettleman's approach actually kind of worked.

Nicks didn't have great production, but he did have some great catches towards the end of the regular season into the playoffs. He flashed his old self. He was just marginalized in Indy's system.

I understand that, but my point is people can't just state thing as if they are fact like Nicks would have been better than Cotchery last season on our team because there is literally no factual or anecdotal evidence to backup such a claim.

It's merely another aww man Gettleman didn't sign someone who is better than the guy we got because I say so.

There is pretty much nothing left at CB in free agency now. We pretty much need to draft a CB now. I think a trade up for a CB Gettleman sees as good value is likely. Similar to what he did to get Bene. Although I'd bet he does so in the 3rd or 4th this year.
