The way they're going right now, they'll be putting a load of importance on the upcoming draft.

May sound crazy, but this draft decides the fate of Drew Brees. Hit in the draft, he retires a Saint. Whiff, and they'll be trading him in 2016 IMO.

They have to do something with him to even be able to sign their draft picks. If he refuses a massive pay cut which is what it sounds like he is doing then they have to trade or release him. The only other option they have is to trade Cam Jordan which I'm sure they have talked about but probably really don't want to do.

$1.5M under, but signing their draft picks will put them $2.5M over. They have plenty of time to figure out what they want to do with him, but he can't stay on his current contract and restructuring really isn't an option for him either. Pay cut, trade or release are their options in that order.
