TarheelBlazer's Panthers Mock Take Two

Here is my second try at this. With the recent signing of LT Michael Oher I think Gettleman will wait until the second round to grab another tackle. My thought is Gettleman trades down and get another 2nd and possibly a 3rd with a team like the Cardinals who might want to target a QB like Brett Hundley or Bryce Petty.

Round 1:

Carolina trades 1st round selection (25th)to Arizona for their 2nd round (55th) and 3rd round (86th)selections.

Round 2 (55th):

OT Cedric Ogbuehi (TAMU)

Height 6'5" Weight 305 lbs

Value pick. Oher can hold down the left OT position in 2015 as Ogbuehi redshirts until midseason.

Round 2 (57th):

WR Dorial Green-Beckham (OKLA)

Height 6’6” Weight 225 lbs

I have an itching feeling that Green-Beckham will be here. If he is still there at this point, we should run the card up to the podium. Green-Beckham paired with Benjamin will be a nightmare matchup for years.

Round 3 (86th):

OT/OG Tyson Sambrailo (CSU)

Height 6'6" Weight 311 lbs

Gettleman pulls a double down a la 2013 draft. Sambrailo can play either right guard or tackle. Great value and insurance for both of those positions.

Round 3 (89th):

WR Jameson Crowder (DUKE)

Height 5'9" Weight 185lbs

Gentleman wraps up a great draft day by selecting Sure-handed slot receiver with quickness that could develop into Randall Cobb like talent for us.

Round 4 (124th):

RB T.J. Yeldon (UA)

Height 6'1" Weight 203 lbs

Talented back that has been the bellcow for the Crimson Tide the last three years.

Round 5 (161st):

SS Durell Eskridge (SYR)

Height 6'3" Weight 203 lbs

Replacement for Harper and helps on special teams immediately.

Round 5 (169th):

CB Ifo Ekpre-Olomu (ORE)

Height 5'9" Weight 192

Definitely a risk pick, but with great upside. Before tearing his ACL before the National Championship Ekpre-Olomu was seen as a fringe first round pick. He could be a great nickel back and allow Bene to move to starter permanently.

Round 5 (174th)

DT Gabe Wright (AUB

Height 6'3" Weight 300

Underrated and durable defensive lineman who will add depth.

Round 6 (200th)

WR/KR J.J. Nelson (UAB

Height 5'11" Weight 160

Not seeing us keeping Ted Ginn more than a season. Nelson was the best returner in the national last year.

Round 7 (242nd)

QB/WR/ATH Devin Gardner (MICH)

Height 6'4" Weight 210

Developmental pick that could pay dividends in a year or two. Might be the best Michigan receiver in the draft.

Be gentle.
