Severe punishments for Browns, Falcons

The definition of severe penalty exactly matches the penalty the Pats received in 2007. It possible they didn't find any real rule broken. It possible it is still being investigated. Maybe you are referring to a new friendship? One that started after the severe fine in 07?

This time they were 2 weeks away from the sb when they got busted. He could have suspended Brady for the game. And still have time for the appeals process. But, there was no way he would have ever done that. Whether they gained an advantage or broke a rule? Goodell, was no where near as outspoken of their offenses as he is on clv and atl for their offenses. In 07 the season was already over and it was the only real off season news story. Just bad timing for the Pats.

Goodell actually said the advantage was not the focus? But that breaking the rule that all 32 teams adhere to was the problem. It doesn't matter if they gained an advantage or not? I am wondering where this Goodell was during Ballghazi? Maybe he got confused and meant to say, " the rules that 31 teams adhere to?"

I'm not advocating for the Browns or Falcs. Fugg em'. Just pointing out Goodell's bromance for Mark Kraft.

Pie for 2 reasons. 1.) best post of the day

2) using Ballghazi

Texting durring games?

Whats the big deal with that?

you were told wrong.

With that important piece of business done, commissioner Roger Goodell plans on turning his attention toward the Browns.

Specifically, he will “focus on” the illegal texting from Cleveland general manager Ray Farmer to coaches on the sideline during several 2014 games.

Electronic communication is banned from 90 minutes prior to kickoff until the end of the game.

part f the reason kyle shannahan left the browns was supposedly because he felt uncomfortable with the GM and other members of the personnel dept. sending texts to the field. one of the big issues is that they were sending the texts from the press box. from what i understand, the texts were more opinions and suggestions rather than orders or something as nefarious as communicating with the other teams. they seems to have been pretty harmless and more just annoying to the coaching staff having the GM and guys from personnel meddling.

but rules are rules. you can't use those devices on the sidelines. communication is limited to the headsets and that one phone line to the booth.

Jerry Jones & Arthur Blank coming down to walk the sidelines during the fourth quarter of games, immediate instant relays in the stadium, headsets, Bluetooth, sideline reporters asking questions at halftime, etc., etc,....tell me again why texting is bad or wrong?? That's the dumbest fuging rule ever.

If you think teams are gaining advantages because of a text from the GM or anyone else who ISN'T a coach then you are special.  Besides, aren't GM's the boss.  What is the difference between sending a text or picking up one of those phones and calling down?

Cleveland's coach was texting another teams asst coach during games. And regardless of whether its "wrong or bad" its a rule. So unless your the Patriots, that means something.

I will agree. unless your making a phone call in the endzone. But if I'm coaching on the sideline and the owner keeps calling and texting me? I think I'd lose my mind. Like," here, you come coach the team and I'll sit in the box eating lobster claws and t-bones."
