I realize every player should be judged on their own merits but after Rashard Anderson, Jason Peter and with Frank Alexander missing as much time as Hardy last year I don't see how this team could make such an irresponsible decision as investing a #1 pick in Gregory.

 

I hope this is just to tempt the likes of the Falcons to take him.

 

Id rather draft a RB in round 1 again than do this. Now, if he slides all the way to day 3, i'll take that gamble.

Gregory has the frame to get up to 275 or better, to me he has the highest ceiling of any pass rusher in this draft.

I don't see his frame being able to sustain 50 more pounds.. Without losing speed and explosiveness. .

He at best is a 3-4 olb not a 4-3 DE..

I saw some freeny mathis compares, the difference is prime peyton. If your QB gives you a big lead, well no need to worry about defending the rush. Plus the turf at colts field was built for speed and take off. Which both mathis and freeny took advance off.

Lastly a very strong 250 lb man can hold his own against a strong 315 lb man. Also having great technique beats strength in the nfl 10/10.

Todd McShay's Mock 4.0 came out today and he has Gregory going #6, writing:

"I don't think the recent news of his positive marijuana test is going to affect his stock all that much. He'd had positive tests in college, so it was already a known issue with him, and he's the top pure edge rusher in this class...he's a terror coming off the edge with his explosive first-step quickness and length, and he's stronger than you'd expect"
