I am on Bre shad Perriman's bandwagon

I pulled info from this site. Seems like they have pretty accurate info, but I could be wrong.

http://www.sportingcharts.com/nfl/stats/drops/2014/

It looks like they calculate the drop % off of total number of targets to drops. 145 targets, 10 drops, drop percentage of 6.9%. According to Rotoworld, Perriman was around 12.9% in 2014, but maybe it was calculated a different way? 12.9% is a pretty scary percentage of drops, but I've not followed him at all, nor have I watched any game film... still scary tho.

I was actually referring to KB's last year in college when I mentioned the +9% drop rate.

That's cool.  That was the information I was giving Mr. Scot in the other thread he was talking about, that you were unsure, in a previous post, where he got it.  I gave him KB's year last season, to Perriman's year last season, in terms of drop percentage.

There's this though...

Perriman: 8 drops on 99 targets in 2014. No drops in final 4 games. Bowl vs NCST: 9 catches, 138 yds, 16 targets, 0 drops, 7 1st downs

Dawg, if you really like this guy, you don't want me on your bandwagon.

Over the last few years, the Panthers have spent first round picks on several guys whom I've had concerns about. So frankly, my being worried about this kid is probably a good sign for him.

Just to get the record straight, the 8 drops on 99 passes was calculated by Pro Football Focus which should make a lot of people feel better about Perriman.

I am pretty sure that the other figure came from some other hack who didn't watch every pass and came up with the number based on what he saw.

Anyway, an 8% drop rate is still a little high, but it was less than Kelvin Benjamin's in his championship season.

As a refresher, here's probably the best site for checking out prospects for yourself instead of blindly listening to the prefabricated opinions of Kiper and the other media "scouts".

Main thing to take away from these videos, in my opinion, is how absolutely horrible Perriman's QB is.  Pay attention to how many of the passes he catches that he has to contort his body around to make.  He drops a couple he shouldn't, but I think his drop numbers are severely inflated by the quality of the passes thrown to him.

Not to mention how many times he would have been all alone for several easy touchdowns if his QB had the arm to get it to him. Dude simply outran his quarterbacks arm. That doesn't happen with Cam. Cams arm and this dudes legs are a match made in heaven.

It's not baseless. Scouts have knocked him for his lazy work ethic, limited football IQ, inability to finish routes consistently and his drop issues.

The only player we should be looking to draft from UCF is Jacoby Glenn.

They have knocked him for his work ethic, not his football IQ. Where the fug are you getting your info from?

In case you don't know, knowledge and IQ are not the same thing.

as pointed out in both the other threads discussing Perriman, Pro Football Focus tweeted these figures out yesterday:

check out this throw. slant route, low and away. has nothing but green ahead of him, but because of the pass, he can only get a couple of YAC. should have been a huge play.

    • We could easily pick apart yesterday’s game: dropped passes, blown coverages, bad tackling and red zone issues to name a few. But it was clear that this wasn’t the same team from earlier in the season. They fought back and hung with the champs until the end. That’s what I was excited to see and it gives me hope that we’re on the right track.
    • I think BY played well today and exceeded expectations. I will temper future expectations as he has to string together many games of consistent quality. One game doesn’t convince me that he is a franchise QB or even a guy you want to stick with for another season. One game doesn’t erase all the negative play and limitations from the past couple of years. I hope he balls out and continues to get better but for me the verdict is still out   That said, I think he gave the team and fans hope yesterday which is a lot more than what we had when we woke up Sunday morning.
    • He was vastly improved today and we need to see more of Bryce the rest of the season to continue evaluate him in order to decide what the heck to do with him at the end of the season. He must play at least like this and improve more from here the rest of the season in order for me to keep him. No more 123 yard passing games and want to see at least this output weekly from him. If this is Bruce improving slowly over time then Canales is even better with developing QB's than I thought he was but still too early to tell and we need to see him the rest of the way as he has at very least earned back the starting gig moving forward.
