The game has changed. Part of it now. Good for them. Don't want to end up like Troy Palamalou or James Harrison and be walking around with scrambled eggs between your ears.

Harrison I'll give you, but I think Polamalu is still all there.

"Catsretiring1yearinnow"

Doesn't bring Chris Borland to mind. smh

Cats - guys

Retiring in one year - Chris Borland

Now - implies the changing state of the dream of playing in the NFL. The paradigm is shifting toward the idea that the NFL really is the dangerous sport it has always been. The dream of an illustrious HoF career making millions of dollars has been on notice at least since Junior Seau killed himself

Sure as hell hope he isn't retiring after this season. He is getting up there but after losing Hardy, losing him a following year would totally suck for us.

Definitely hoping he is referring to Borland

In this case, "cats" means "players" in general. He's referring to the fact that players are giving up their football careers while he, on the other hand, loves the game and what it has been able to provide for his family and can't imagine giving up after a single season.

Basically he's saying the exact opposite of what you thought, haha.

EDIT - Dang, frash beat me to it.

Does he even know Borland though? And yeah it's weird a year in advance but it's also weird he randomly posts that if it is about Borland a few weeks after he retired. You'd think it'd be the same week of

He doesn't have to know him. Football players tend to consider themselves part of a large fraternity.

Worrying about damage to your brain is something that will make anyone think.
