Thought I'd start something like this and see if anyone else here (besides Zod of course) is into photography. I've always enjoyed it but only just got a DSLR (Canon t5i) this December. It's just a hobby at this point but I enjoy it.

If any of you do any photography maybe post some photos here or link your website or instagram or whatever. Even if it's just your phone, you can do some good stuff with a phone, it's pretty much all I used for a year prior to the Canon.

http://instagram.com/mr_dr_j I put most of my poo here. Everything prior to December is an iphone.

Took this one last night. I'm in Virginia for the week, in the mountains where there's actually stars unlike charlotte

most of my good stuff is on my 500px page. i need to get more of my stuff from indonesia and scotland up there.

Awesome photos. Particularly liked the ones of/in Cambodia. My girlfriend's family is from the country and I am hoping to go in the near future. Her parents are headed to Cambodia to see their family members for a month next week.

I always want to ask them about the Khmer Rouge but not sure it's something they want to speak about. Her mother lost her entire family in the nation's capital and quite literally hid in some brush for a few days. After the armies had left she wandered to the border of Thailand where she was taken to a refugee camp and treated horribly until she was able to come to the States. Her dad was from a small remote village so his family survived and he came to America by choice leaving his family behind in search of opportunity. One thing lead to another and her parents met in high school both as refugees and genocide survivors. I've picked up on some words and would love to learn the language as they are always speaking in Khmer around me but it's unlike anything I've ever heard.

That is a really cool picture. That spot could be used for various photo shoots.

Thanks man! I was peaking on some Golden Teachers when I found this. I, halfway, went back just to make sure what I remembered was real... lol.

I've checked out some rail maps though, and this old line is still in tact, undisturbed seemingly, through these woods for at least a mile.

Me and a buddy plan to go out with a machete and cut a passable trail down it. I'll post some more pics of what we find along the abandoned railroad.

khmer is the most difficult SEA language i've tried to pick up.

actually burmese, i take that back. khmer is a close second. it doesn't help that it's annoyingly confusable in script and vocabulary with both thai and lao.

you should definitely head over there though. i'm doing thesis work in vietnam this summer and it looks like my flights there and back are actually through thailand, which will let me get to saigon via cambodia, so i'll finally get to meet back up with my homies at the boys home in phnom penh for the first time in four years.
