Luck is waiting until his contract year to do a deal...does that mean his GM hates him, they aren't surrounding him with weapons, and he secretly wants to sign with another team like people think Cam is doing to us?

Almost every Cowboy fan I've spoken to absolutely think that Romo was their problem all these years. However, every time I see him he looks solid to me. Certainly not top 5 or anything crazy but he is not, nor has been, their issue. I believe he is a Franchise QB and I think he has earned that moniker. I think he's definitely top 15 and probably around 10. I can't really think of 10 QBs I'd take over him (in no particular order). Rodgers, Brady, Manning, Rothlesberger, Flacco, Luck, Cam, Brees, Ryan, Wilson, Rivers. Some of those are maybes and age is a factor if looking at them RIGHT NOW. So yeah right around 10-12 is where I'd put him. Just my perspective anyways.

I think the weapons question is legitimate and could decide if it's this offseason or next. The national media went full steam with the "Cam has no weapons in Carolina" angle for the first time last season and it gives him a safety net. As things are, even if he under performs next year he'd still get big offers in 2016. 

 

If we give him a visible supporting cast then that tune could change and not taking a payday now would be too risky.

Is Cam worth $20-22million a year? No. Do we have to offer him a mega deal like this to keep him? Yes. Do we need to keep him? Yes. Just the way it goes.
