Mr. Richardson did flex muscles regarding Hardy

I don't get this place sometimes. This is a mute point. They couldn't afford him and he certainly wasn't going to take less then last years money (all the play for vet mIn. was a laugh). One player doesn't make a team. But being 13 mill in the hole can definitly hold a team back.

We can bring Bell,Cason and the rest of the gang back if you like.

So if Luke or Cam are accused of assault and settle out of court, we are OK cutting them?

I've been one of Hardy's biggest supporters for the past 9 months, at least in terms of keeping him. But there was a big development that happened quietly last month that basically nobody paid attention to: turns out the DA's office had in its possession pictures of bruises and welts all over Nicole Holder's body from head to toe. Face, arms, legs, torso, back, feet......Hardy clearly did it. If he thought she faked it, he would have fought tooth and nail and would have never paid her off.

Now that you can (I believe) definitively say Hardy did beat her, it becomes a matter of giving someone a second chance. However, since Hardy is maintaining his innocence, he'll never be apologizing and admitting what he did. So I think I'm going to begrudgingly agree with Richardson's decision to let him go.

As for Cam or Luke getting the same treatment, Hardy was basically on their same level in terms of playmaking ability. And I think if someone accused those two of beating them and they had pictures of their injuries all over their body to prove it, I think they would have gotten the same treatment from Richardson, I really do.

Ah my favorite topic on this board. Anyone who wants a new owner must mean they also want Jerry Richardson to die. I rather the panthers never win another game than for anyone to die. So one belief is not synonymous with the other. Does this really surprise anyone. An awul decision was made, and who has been the one constant when it comes to poor decisions over the past 20 years? Yeah this shouldn't surprise anyone.

Very telling in the article when Norman says how badly the locker room and coaching staff wanted him back. Jerry Richardson does not care, all he cares about is that shield at the 50 yard line and Mr. Godell.

Why would anyone want J-Rich to die?  It's more like how my 80+ year old mama-in-law fussed and fought about whether she should still be driving or not.  She eventually came to the realization with a little coaxing here and there---complete with some terrifying moments for some family members on I80--- that it wasn't a good idea anymore.

The acknowledgement of what was in those evidence logs is really what changed everything for me. I don't need to see them really, just the fact that there are photos of injuries all over her body tells me everything I need to know. This whole time I thought there was just a bruise on her face, I had no idea about this other stuff.

No, due process is what the 49ers did with McDonald. Even when the media wanted him suspended (not as publicized as hardy) the 49ers stood by him when she had pictures and kept him on the field. As soon as poo got hot we crumbled.

Not saying hardys the difference in us winning a superbowl, but I'd rather be the team who puts morals second with Lombardis to show for it then the one who does everything morally right but still waiting to win one. But it's a okay, we can sleep good at night lmao

Not sure I'd equate those two.

McDonald's first incident was investigated by a cop who worked part time for the 49ers doing security. Surprise surprise, no charges filed.

Of course, McDonald is an utter moron so he went and got himself arrested yet again, and an embarrassed 49ers team had little choice but to boot him in order to save face

You are preaching to th choir. No one wants Jerry Richardson to die. You would have to be a disgusting human being to hope for that. But the Jerry Richardson worshippers immediately turn to that when people call out JR and wish we had different ownership. It makes no sense to me, but it is a pattern on this board.

I haven't heard this before. If true, Hardy had to go and the same would apply to Cam, Luke, Kalil, Olsen and anyone else on the team.

Football is great and all, but that would be tough to recover from on a business level.

His reasoning is bullshit. He's talking about "doing the right thing" but he's just submitting to media pressure. The circumstances around the case were so outrageous that based on the facts it seems way more likely he's innocent than guilty. If JR wanted to do the right thing he'd come out and say he supports his player and believes in his innocence. I understand not wanting him here because of the distraction, or bad public perception surrounding it, and if that's the reason then just say that. Don't play this fuging "we do the right things" game. And clearly JR and the organization initially believed in his innocence because they let him play week 1 while the legal process played itself out. Not until the Rice video came out and the NFL got blasted did they start "doing the 'right thing.'"

I've been following the case as well and never read one piece of information corroborating what you're claiming. There's no way the DA had that in their possession and dropped the case. You don't need the victim to press charges in a criminal case.

Unfortunately they go somewhat hand in hand these days.

He can't really come out and say yeah I let him go because you fugers would never let me live it down if I didn't.

Exactly, if they had those pictures it's an open and shut case and they'd have continued to go forward with it even without Holder.

When an old and powerful curmudgeon starts crying in public and acquiescing to puffed up public pressure---not to mention agreeing to voluntarily throw $13 million out the window---all to the detriment of the team, it may be time to step down.
