Mr. Richardson did flex muscles regarding Hardy

Looks like a lot of fans would prefer Jerry Jones as a team owner.

Tells you everything you need to know about their opinions... don't it?

I think I saw one idiot who actually thought that.

I may not agree with JR on everything, but I certainly think we could do much worse.

My only wish is that JR showed a little more emotion about his football team losing as he did the image of the league.

He certainly wasn't turning away fans money while all this was going on.

I don't think anyone can deny that Hardy wanted to play here in a bad kind of way. To say he wouldn't have played here on a cheap deal is just speculation because it makes people feel better about Jerry Richardson and the whole situation.

News Flash: All of you sensitive, holier than thou types can feel good about the situation anyway.

News Flash: this is also speculation.

Actually, it's even more so speculation. There are facts that back up the idea he wouldn't have taken a cheap deal. None of us know what discussions actually occurred between him, his agent, and management.

Not sure I'd equate those two.

McDonald's first incident was investigated by a cop who worked part time for the 49ers doing security. Surprise surprise, no charges filed.

Of course, McDonald is an utter moron so he went and got himself arrested yet again, and an embarrassed 49ers team had little choice but to boot him in order to save face

Absolutely, the second time when he was already one thin ice he should've been gone

I've been following the case as well and never read one piece of information corroborating what you're claiming. There's no way the DA had that in their possession and dropped the case. You don't need the victim to press charges in a criminal case.

I've read what he claims but the article I read had no proof those things existed. Just a belief on what was being hidden.

While I wouldn't want Jerry Jones specifically as my owner, as a New York Yankees fan (I'm from NY) I've always loved Steinbrenner. People complained about buying championships and I applauded. He cared THAT much about winning that he would pay exhorbinant amounts of money (and then make even more money) to win.

He, like Jerry Jones, got a bit too involved in running the actual team. I think Billy Martin was fired and rehired like 5 times in one season. Craziness. But having an owner that is THAT invested in the team, emotionally, and has a ridiculously strong desire to win is VERY enviable.

There seem to be plenty of owners of major sports teams that really do only care about making money and not if their team wins. The Marlins are an obvious example.

But it's a thin line of enthusiastic owner and owner who fugs withs team and screws it up constantly. So I'd say no to Jerry Jones but I wouldn't hate him. Part of him reminds me of Steinbrenner. And for the record I like Jerry Richardson's story of being a player and getting rich off of a business and creating the team. Seems like a nice guy I guess. That's not really important to me. But I do agree with some that have said this whole thing is kinda phony. Maybe not completely but the hard, moral stand wasn't made until after the Rice video dropped. So who knows how it all really played out behind closed doors but there are elements that ring a little phony and geared toward PR and the vision JR has of himself or what he wants others to think. In my never to be humble opinion.

Steinbrenner never had to deal with a salary cap.

When Jones started having to compete on a level playing field rather than just being able to outspend everyone, his team stopped winning Super Bowls.

Less so.

Hardy could have been talking out of his ass to Josh Norman, but I don't believe that Norman was lying. It's also a fact that Hardy was lobbying the fans to help him to stay. Hardy wasn't stupid. He read the reports just like we did, and he knew the expectations.

In any event it's moot because if we are to take this latest report at face value, Richardson wasn't having Hardy here under any circumstances.
