Greg Jennings Leaves Without Contract...

Average speed is the same a slow. Either you're a speedster or you're not. If he was 6'3 or taller, that would be one thing. Barely 6'0 without being lightning quick is meh.

Get Cam tall or quick receivers.

Short and slow = FAIL.

So we should sign Darrius Heyward-Bey? He's both tall and fast!

And for the record, Jennings has good not great speed but he is very quick. He has never been average speed and is definitely not slow. I prefer guys who get open and can catch which are what Jennings specializes in.

Somehow when I think of Jennings I picture Moose. Moose was never considered fast either or flashy or intimidating. And yet he more often than not managed to be where he needed to be and be open. That's how I view Jennings. Crabtree, to me, has too much of the "diva" thing going on.

Jennings is pretty elusive and he's not slow. He actually has some giddy up. I suggest watching some highlights. Great route runner and gets separation.

You all can call it whatever you want. He's not one of those quick underneath guy like a Wes Welker, which is what he should be for his height. I never said he wasn't a good route runner or that he has bad hands, but he also needs to either be taller or faster to be what the Panthers ACTUALLY need.

Old and slow beats older and slower any day of the week. It obviously trumps young and slow or faster in our case, especially when you account for hands, consistency and durability.

Basically, what I am saying is that Jennings is an upgrade over any wide receiver that we have not named Kelvin Benjamin. Once you accept that and let it sink in, then perhaps you'll be less inclined to argue about why anyone would desire that he be here. Even if he is it not a huge upgrade, he would likely be a notable one. And the Panthers need upgrades.

To the original point, it looks like he's sizing up his market in person.  He wants to get a better gauge of the interested teams.  He's also trying to inflate his market as well.  If he's really looking for a place to lead, a good community, and a place to raise his family, Charlotte has a lot of that to offer.  Plus, we are trending upwards in the NFL (to some of us at least).

I would be happy to have him, but I wouldn't lose any sleep if he goes else where.

Only edge that I see Miami having over us is the tax benefits to salary.  Charlotte & the Panthers are the better team currently, and arguably long-term.  The area would trump raising a family and there's a lot of young talent that he can mentor.  Cam and Tannehill are probably in the same boat as far as age, potential, and what they offer under center.

Can't blame him from leaving without a deal, but like others have said, Teddy Ginn did the same thing.

I'm getting annoyed by the multiple complaints every time someone starts a thread. I, for one, am happy this thread was started, because I did not wish to read every single post in the earlier thread about Greg Jennings, and so, wouldn't have known he left without a contract unless I looked at another site. If Greg Jennings had signed a contract, would you complain about someone starting a different thread on that, too? No, because "He signed" is noteworthy news relative to "He's coming to visit." And so is "He didn't sign." Pie to the OP.

But you can't feel self-important and part of the "in" crowd unless you chastise people for any perceived faux pas.

I find it interesting that a tweet was posted from GJ, which was quickly locked. Reason stated was it was old news, but the tweet wasnt as old as the previous threads.

Cant help but get the feeling that the powers that be are trying to suppress information (more likely, speculation) reserved for those that put money in a certain person's pocket. (All pro info only..and damn you other mofos)

Seriously though...there are numerous threads about Jennings, as well as other frivolous stuff that is either old news, rehashing of old news...etc. Why was that one locked?
