Panthers talk to Greg Jennings

I've been pretty even keel on this....until I read that tweet. Now I'm freaking out like Dex on draft day.

 

So is it pronounced David Jettleman?

Unless Gettleman stayed behind or something, I would expect he and most other Panther officials(as well as all the agents) to be in or on their way to Phoenix for the owners meetings. I'd be very surprised if we saw a signing this week. Not saying he isn't signing here but the timing doesn't really work for a signing right now.

As I understand, if all the terms are agreed upon, the documents can be sent via fax.

Plus I don't think the GM actually has to be there when someone signs. They usually are, but aren't required to be.

Good one...Good Charlotte!  Though I wouldn't want to admit that it's a guilty pleasure I enjoy listening to when I've knowingly done something wrong, got caught, fought over it, lost, and am still punished by my wife yet feel like I'm right even if I was completely wrong....  No, I'd never, never admit that! NOPE! =)

 

This would be pretty cool.  If he's good for 700ish yards and 5-6 TDs a year, and can really help the younger guys out then this could be another one of those Gettlemagic deals...

Very crafty on Jennings part.  No signed contract but give other teams the impression you liked you visit to Charlotte.  Maybe hoping for a bidding war.

You're correct although that would be a little unusual. It's entirely possible Gettleman and Jennings agent negotiate the terms in Phoenix and send the contract to Greg to sign in Charlotte so he can have the photo op and talk with the media. I just think that would be unlikely. I'm guessing Jennings already had his physical done just to get that out of the way.
