Giants owner unimpressed with "mediocre" free agent class

I basically agree. The only superstars that you had in my opinion were Maclin, Cobb, Murray, Suh, Revis and Hardy. Maybe Cromartie. Yeah, maybe Thomas, although Denver apparently didn't think so.

Not Dez, Justin Houston, Demaryious Thomas?

Well when your crosstown rival goes out and gets Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie while all you get is Shane Vereen and Dwayne Harris it's in your best interest to downplay this year's free agency.

When you play about once every 4 years and that other team is the Jets I don't think you worry what they do too much.

It seemed like the extra cap caused a bump to salaries.

Elite Players got paid like Super-Elite Players

Above average players got paid elite numbers

Average players got above average numbers

I'll admit, it sucks when you don't get big marquee signings while other teams fans are doing those stupid "Welcome to (insert team)" pictures. Truth is, Getts has shown he has an eye for talent in the draft and in 2013 showed that grabbing a couple good potential FA's at low salaries rather than the band-aid FA's in 2014 is the way to go. I'd love it if we were in such a good position to run a front office like Green Bay, give me homegrown players any day as long as you're not handing out Hurney contracts to mediocre talent.
