Would you be mad if gettleman chose Todd Gurley as our first round pick?

Well if he was perfectly healthy we wouldnt be having this conversation. He is worth the risk as a late first round pick.

If he could contribute from day one, I'd be all over it. ACL for RB is no bueno. If we were loaded and had no glaring needs then it's easily justified, he is a luxury pick imo for some other team that is in better shape.

Most morons can put together a solid 3-4 round draft. The good scouts/GM's make their money in the later rounds. It's the difference between the teams that are competitive every year and the ones that aren't.

Every team misses on players in the draft. What matters is what you find in later rounds and UDFA. 1st and 2nd rounds are usually safe picks where you have a high chance of drafting a good player where as latter rounds when the better players are gone is a gamble.

You could say Gettleman has done a great job at finding UDFA. Corey Brown, Robert Lester, Wes Horton, Melvin White and Andrew Norwell have contributed in one way or another.

I know wr is huge for us but what if we look at it from a new angle?

What better way to take pressure off cam and his receivers than a monster running back duo? With this being a "passing leauge" what better way to score points than to do the opposite of what modern defenses are built to well defend?

A wr that can beat a DE on a fly route..

It's not about how good Gurley is, it's about us already having a crowded backfield even with deangelo gone. Unless he is going to line up at WR or OT half the time it would be dumb.

Crowded? Considering it's probably Stewart last season and after him it's fozzy and Reaves doesn't seem like much comp back there to me.
