If there was a stud MLB in the upcoming draft to replace Luke then I wouldn't mind us doing the trade. I don't know if we can get 3 first round picks but we could probably get two 1st round picks and some mid round picks.

I love Luke but if we get a offer for him that includes multiple first round picks we would be dumb to turn that down. After all what has more value, Luke or two first round draft picks? With two first round picks you take a chance but more than likely will end up with two solid players.

No, no they don't. They gave up over 400 yards to Ryan Lindley at home a week before we set a playoff record against him. And that was before the complete unmitigated disaster that has been their offseason.

There are VERY few cornerstone defensive players in the NFL at any given time.  Luke is one of them.  The reason those types of guys are very rarely traded is because it's almost impossible to get the value you deserve in a trade.  Even if you get two #1s, what are the chances that the combination of those two players proves to be a bigger impact on the field and in the locker room than Luke?  Slim to none.

 

The only way you move a guy like Luke is if you know you don't have the cap flexibility to keep him.  If he was a Saint, I could see them making a deal to move him.  Fortunately, we have cap flexibility moving forward.  Luke is going to be a Panther for a loooooooong time.

Um no. Not even for 2 first round picks. First round picks can be busts, or just not as great as people thought. We know we have Luke in his prime, it would be stupid to give that up.
