Hardy negotiating with Seattle/Tampa/Dallas

Captain Morgan

Top Five 2015 Salaries

Carolina- $70,981,666

Seattle- $44,700,000

Difference- $26,281,666

Johnson- $20,020,000

Newton- $14,666,666

Kalil- $11,795,000

Davis- $9,900,000

Stewart- $8,300,000

Olsen- $6,300,000

Sherman- $12,200,000

Lynch- $8,500,000

Avril- $8,000,000

Bennett- $8,000,000

Graham- $8,000,000

But please, continue on with your idiotic drivel. It has nothing to do with money, we're just losers and Seattle wants to win. Also, don't even say "derp we can restructure contracts and make it fit." That worked out so well for the Saints that they had to trade their best players this year.

One key difference is the quarterback cap hit.

Seattle managed to make the most out of their roster with Wilson making peanuts.

Carolina with Newton on a reasonable rookie deal? Not so much unfortunately.

also who in the hell would think about freaking kerry collins or fred lane in the year of our lord 2015 when considering the panthers.

they wouldn't think cam newton or luke kuechly, oh no. they'd think the 1995 draft and an episode of snapped

The Panthers... aren't they that team that plays in some college stadium with a grass hill behind the end zone?

The annoying thing about a thread like this is we have so many people who always have a grass is greener mentality and think everything we do is a bad move that deserves harsh scrutiny on here. As if every team were in our exact situation and all Gettleman should do is follow what the others would do. It has been stated millions of times why Hardy is not going to be back with this team, we have a legitimate reason for moving on. Even before this he didn't seem to be in the team's long term plans. If our team really thought he was the future for us, we'd have found a way to make it work. If we were scared to ever play against Hardy we'd find a way to keep him. There's only so much you can do to keep a player and we can't afford another franchise tag year on Hardy.

Seattle is a great team but adding Hardy or Jimmy Graham doesn't make them invincible. Dallas has done a great job drafting lately and is making good moves. The Bucs have so many pieces without a QB, if they draft a winner this year then we'll have to consider them as challengers to the throne, be they're still a step behind us. Greg going to any of these teams doesn't mean we'll automatically lose to them next year.

Contrary to the belief of many, we are able to recover from this. We've already recovered from Greg leaving last season. We draft very well now and we have great coaches to bring our young players along quickly. Lets get this compensation pick and get another DE with it.

Don't be afraid of being a team who can reload without missing a beat, it's who we are being built to become.

Of course.

Now right or wrong, fair or not, it's up to Gettleman to correct that.

I don't think there is any way we can ignore WR and OT in this years draft.

What he's been doing these past two years is exactly that. I don't think we will ignore those two positions but I feel like ppl are always going to be dissapointed. We need to stay the course, sign our own, keep drafting well. Then when our window is open go all out. That is exactly what the Seahawks are doing now

Unfortunately disappointment is always going to happen for fans, regardless of which sport it is. Everyone has expectations.

I don't expect us to turn the corner practically overnight. But I do want us to keep doing all we possibly can to improve and compete with the best of the NFC for a Super Bowl appearance.

Last year showed that we still lack the offense to do that, but I don't think we are that far behind.

Got damn, we need CJ to give up some of that stupid contract. That hurt just to read it.

Truth is that I don't care where he goes. Let's see how much of a beast he is when he doesn't have the rest of the front seven around him. He might do awesome or might struggle somewhat. In either case since he is no longer a Panther he is just like any other player from any other team.

Whoever is paying him this coming year will end up with buyer's remorse. Just glad to hear we're not going to foot the bill again.

He had one outstanding year, yet almost half of his sacks came in one game and the rest may have been a product of Charles Johnson being double teamed on most plays. He also showed a lack of wisdom here (anyone remember the speedometer photo of him doing 100 mph in his Bentley).

Had he signed a big deal before the domestic violence situation, we'd have already been talking about him like they did Haynesworth a few years back. He won't be a big, big ticket signing, but he will be a bad one.
