Stephen Hill

If you put his numbers up against the combine numbers of the WRs coming out this year where would he rank? just saying.

Just because he has size and speed doesn't mean he can play the game. There are plenty of combine kings out there that are wishing they can trade their speed for brains. Can he catch? Can he block? Can he run routes?

That is interesting speculation, but nothing more. Completely false.

Richardson is a hands off owner. He lets his GM manage and his coaches coach.

Anyone that tells you otherwise knows next to nothing or is just looking to stir things up.

So a kid that went to the same school as JR went to and lives or lived in his same neighborhood just so happen to land a roster spot on JR's team.

co-ink-ee-dink?

exactly and keeps being brought back year after year..... as least Stephen hill has started in this league before, I mean he can't be that bad if given a chance with a real Qb.

I don't know what the staff's intentions with Hill are. All I know is that they don't seem to intend to cut him (which I view as a positive), but they also don't seem to want to put him on the active roster either (which is a cause for concern). Hopefully, he'll work like his career depends on it (because it might) and his talent will finally match his measurables and we'll have one hell of a steal on our hands.  i think it's I really think it's up to him.

A lot of ya’ll gave LaFell a hard time coming in for drops and just look at the season he just had with Brady (74 rec, 953 yards, 7 TD’s – that’s just a few receptions, 55 yards and 2 TD’s behind KB), Ted Ginn has had drop issues over his career and the majority of you clamored for his return not only to special teams, but also as a receiver. You all doubted his ability but he had a career year (5 TD’s) HERE and nowhere else really. I mean did Cotchery, Brown, and Bersin even combine for that many?

The kid Hill is everything you want in a WR he’s a match-up night-mare, big and fast, and he’s only 23 years old coming from a team that drafted him way to high, and by virtue was forced to play likely before he was ready coming out of a school like Georgia Tech.

However if you look at our roster we don’t have any other receiver outside of Benjamin with more potential. And if any of you think Brown is that guy I’d seriously doubt your talent evaluation skills. Brown doesn’t make most NFL teams, sorry to burst your bubbles. If you trust our GM’s ability to evaluate talent and you all waited three years for Bersin to finally make the team, I say hit back and watch.

If Hill does become a viable number two can you imagine how favorable match-ups would be with KB, Hill, Ginn (circa 2013), and Olsen lined up and Stewart out of the back-field. Adding another receiver talent or two via the draft would have me fairly excited about finally fielding a legit receiving core.

I agree that Hill as a #2 should not be expected, but he has the perfect skillset to be an NFL WR2:

23 years old

6'4"

215 lbs.

4.36 40-time

39.5" vertical

33"+ arm length

$600k salary

He came into the league raw and I'm pretty confident that most GMs knew he was a project.  After 2 years in a crappy environment, he came here and has been brought along slowly.  He's had guys like Cotch, Avant and Olsen to help him.  I honestly think Ginn can help him as well.  One speedster to another how to use the physics of his talent to his advantage.

The Panthers love players that know a system and I definitely see him getting a shot.  I don't think his presence here keeps the organization from looking for a #2 receiver in FA or the draft, but I also don't think the book has been closed on Hill yet.

Ricky Proehl is gonna be the one to help him the most. I am interested to see how he looks in camp. After years of Panthers WR projects though, I am not gonna get my hopes up.

Considering that most other teams passed on him, that he was passed over for Tavares King by Jacksonville, that he could not beat out Brenton Bersin for a roster spot.....

I'd say, yeah, he is totally our next great receiver!

Why would they replace bersin who was a decent #4/5 guy with good hands on 3rd dowm for someone who didnt know the playbook at all?

Hes a project so it makes sense to stash him on the ps and let him compete for a spot next season.

I believe management is doing it right and fair thing by giving him the best opportunity possible to hone his skills and learn the playbook. If someone is raw and didnt respond well being thrown into the fire too quick, dont do it again!

There is no denying Hills physical abilities and im looking forward to how he responds in camp. I believe that if Hill is gunna make it, itll be with us.

You dont wana take a pie out of the oven too early do you?
