Joe Montana NFL Football 16... AKA NFL 2k16... Madden's tyrannical monopoly coming to an end?

If this game makes it to PC, NFL will be fully replicated. Just look at what some dedicated PC gamers did to NBA 2K14. Quite honestly they're would probably be historic teams too, or previous seasons in their entirety. The PC gaming community is ridiculously passionate and dedicated when it comes to sports games.

Yup, modders are still updating the old NBA 2k series to new players/jerseys/courts/game faces.

Also, people STILL update NFL 2k5 rosters to today's rosters and play it, it still has superior animations and realistic factor to Madden.

I love this news.  Since it doesn't have licenses,  throw it on Steam for $30 or 40 and people will ****** it up.

Pretty vague response to give to your stockholders, especially when you paraded it as the official game of the NFL before with official documentation, dates, and everything. They obviously still have some kind of deal worked out with the league and NFLPA, but I doubt the exclusivity remains.

I don't know about this game but anyone who thinks Microsoft paid $400 million just to be the official tablet of the NFL is fooling themselves. That's double what Nike pays for a swoosh on every jersey.

This one is probably my favorite. Go back and recreate past seasons, keep Kobe on the Hornets etc...

Fair enough. I just find it really hard to believe 2K has yet to take advantage of a loophole that the originator of this rumor is claiming has been there since the agreement was signed. I would be shocked if this ended up being an NFL game.

I saw this a week or so ago, and the developers actually released a screenshot without real logos/ teams. The rumor that it was an nfl game is bogus as the only way they can get a license is by making a mobile game.

I'm really sad about this because 2k football was by far superior to anything ea has vomited into the market.

Do you collect cards to build a better roster (deck)? Yes or no? There you go, that's where it's similar. You invest resources (either time or money) into building the best roster possible, and then you pick the best deck to use on a game by game basis. The premise of the mode is built on trading card games, but you refuse to accept/admit that for some reason. Whatever, I don't care either way. The mode is lame as poo to me. The rest of FIFA is sick.

hahahah this reminds me of a similar arguement i had with my friend while playing madden in franchise mode.   We were talking about games in general and he mentioned he absolutely hated RPGs and how geeking and stupid it was to be happy about your character/parties stats.  The whole time he is simming each week in madden and doing the pre-game experience boosters to progress his team.

News flash people: Many modern games borrow heavily from other games and genres.  Sometimes it adds the extra spice a franchise needs, other times it just plain sucks.

Apologize to everyone else for dumb fugs derailing the thread.

Lol you're the dumbass that derailed the thread, you're just one of those types that can't handle any sort of dissenting opinion so you can't even see it.  All I said was some throwaway comment that I thought 2K's MyPlayer was the best sports mode around right now and you replied with some condescending remark.

That's why I dropped the whole thing back on the beginning of the 2nd page (yet you continued page after page), because it's not even worth wasting time trying to argue with you.  This isn't a conclusion just drawn from this thread, but yet multiple threads I've seen you in.  Don't hurt yourself on that high horse.

This is a main forum topic, imo.

I loved the 2k series. Would buy a xbox one just to support it again.

Without reading through all the trading card game nonsense, is the article for real? I saw some comments saying yes, no, something about MUT and FUT...and then I got lost.

Am about to purchase a PS4 and this, if true, might derail that decision.

Buy your PS4 and play the hell out of it. Rumor is just that. No chance this is an NFL game.
