Panthers Are Signing Safety Kurt Coleman Per Voth

Rotoworld seems to like the signing

Panthers signed S Kurt Coleman, formerly of the Chiefs, to a two-year contract.

The Chiefs signed Coleman off the scrap heap prior to Week 1 last season, and it turned out to be one of their best pickups. Coleman accounted for half the team's interceptions despite playing just 377 snaps. Capable of playing both safety spots, Coleman gives Carolina depth with Thomas DeCoud gone and Roman Harper aging.

i like it, he's the kind of lightning in a bottle we need at safety. hopefully we can guide his aggression and keep him from getting injured. at the very least we've got a hard hitter on special teams which will be great.

he should also push boston.

these young dbs need to be pushed, they shouldn't think that because they were the starters last year at the end that they should feel comfortable. comfortability breeds complacency.

also good to hear that the dude sees we are building a perennial contender. i remember reading stuff that melvin and lester were complacent the offseason after 2013. weren't taking training seriously.

although both of our young dbs (bene and boston) are known to be very heady players

He doesn't have to push Boston. He can play beside him.

What I like is that he's a ballhawk. Had half the Chiefs' interceptions on limited snaps.

Cheifs only had 6 INTs last year? If so that's terrible. Coleman also looks like he can tackle his 2nd season he had 70+ tackles and 4 INTs then the season after that he had 90+ tackles. I don't think we've had a safety come close to those stats since Minter.
