"One of the things I was really considering was which teams are really striving to be champions? I think Carolina is building and building. I can be another piece and I can help these guys get to that next level."

"Whatever role they want me to play I am willing to do," Coleman said. "But I think I have worked my way to be a starter. I know I can play as a starter and be very productive."

"Kurt gives us a versatile safety who can play both spots," head coach Ron Rivera said. "He's athletic, he's intelligent and will understand the system, having worked with Sean (McDermott) before. He's a very consistent player and also adds special teams ability. That is something we've talked about improving upon, and we've made some moves this offseason looking for guys that can help us on special teams."

Added Coleman: "Whatever it takes to win – I'm that type of that guy. I'll do what we need. I want to go make that play on special teams."

    • How can I NOT watch Chiefs football? Come on, man. That's what you're supposed to do, be on top on the scoreboard in the end. Just because they're doing just enough doesn't really mean anything. Hate Andy for having an astute understanding of clock management and a knowing that his QB is simply going to pull it out when he gets the ball last and the game is on the line.  I wholeheartedly agree that it's been uglier this year, with Pat throwing all the picks and such, but, if you think about it objectively, at the end of the day the Chiefs are doing what they've been doing for years (particularly in the playoffs).  You don't go 14-1 by accident and not playing good football. You just don't. And, I saw them yesterday. For me, they're making perceptible and incremental improvements at exactly the right time. I don't know whether they beat Pittsburgh (who needs to win, if nothing else but for morale), but I still wouldn't actually bet against the Chiefs come playoff time.  As an aside, if Rashee pulls off the miracle and comes back for the semifinals or a championship, that's the wrap!
    • Good point. All those Super Bowl seasons in 2018-22 really came and went.
